Emre sold to Fenerbahce..Premier League Newcastle United by abhazkiz (U8634736) 30 May 2008 The turkish press is saying that Emre has signed a 3 year deal with Fenerbahce for 3.5m euros a year. Fenerbahce have earned the right to play in the champions league this season, but the club may not announce it until after euro 2008. Its not 100% but its from a reliable source.(Ntvspor.net) Any thoughts? Latest 10 commentsRead members' comments or add your own

Johnpartland (U6633580) posted Jun 2, 2008 Im happy about the transfer of emre he is a good player when on the ball but not the type of player we need right now off the ball. As far as "Top Quality signings go" unfortunately have to admit our better days are behind us and the future isnt looking good, We are a big club but not a top club we have to settle for chelsea rejects as no one else will come to us. All the best young talent will chose everton, vill, spurs and the big 4 over us but the spurs clear out is in my opinion where we should be raiding some of the players on the way with the likes of Dawson, Bent, Lennon Etc these are quality players who if we are willing to dig deep, i firmly believe we have a chance with, As far as martins, milner, n'zogbia, enrique and taylor is concerned we do really need to keep them and build the team around them, everyone else with the exception of our keepers id be selling Barton Needs to be sacked as no club as desperate as we are for quality at the moment should have a thug like him in the team, Sell owen (Good but not worth 100,000 wages a week get rid before he gets injured again for a year, Smith forward that never scores, Duff similar to owen quality but we havnt really seen it and he is to injury prone and release viduka who is pure class when he can be bothered problem is he cant be bothered most of the time but lets be totally honest if newcastle want to even break the top 6 we need to spend about 200 million and as keegan has been told to sell before he can buy we are going to be in a relegation dogfight next season i fear as who in there right mind would pay for some of the garbage we have who unfortunately are regarded as first team players??? id buy prospects from the championship and the lower leagues ect as i really do fear with ashley in charge we are going to sink like a rock; he said when taking over the club he was going to invest heavily into the squad so far no manager has been given a penny to spend on the squad, fair enough he has cleared the debts but thats not investing in the squad reports suggest keegan aint getting what he was promised when he took the job so how long will keegan be here for??? part of the synic in me thinks allardrice was sacked not only for his pathetic results and garbage signings and stupid formation, but also so ashley had an excuse to not dig deep, as Keegan "Needed Time To Assess the Squad" before he was going to get money for transfers, id watch this one as i wouldnt at all be surprised to see Keegan "Resign" and another manager come in and need "time to assess the squad" before they get money for transfers. Il never not support the club its my team but as much as freddy shepherd interfered and sacked managers at least he backed them with the cash, theres already talk of ashley selling up, "A true Fan of the club" just because he sits in the stands with a newcastle top opn doesnt make him a fan, i could sit in any clubs stand wearing there teams shirt but i still wouldnt support them, hes from america where theyve never really heard of football, so im really not convinced he is a Massive True fan of the club; hes a businessman and face guys were a dead stick right now. Id love to see us do well but every season of late we finish lower and lower in the league, its great to dream so whilst we dreaming lets say we are going to challenge aston illa and verton for 6th and 7th place, now lets be realistic, the only thing that might keep us in the league is that hull and stoke are going to be there but who knows if they stay up then i think we wll be totally screwed

lesmiller61 (U2070265) posted Jun 3, 2008 Emre never showed what he could do on a consistent basis. Often injured as he was in Milan, so obviously injury prone. Seems like good business if the £8m is to be believed.

mb2008 (U12207919) posted Jun 5, 2008 What is happening at Newcastle? Clearly the rumoured transfer kitty is not available, as Mike Ashley focuses his attention on spending his money in the Bigg Market! So with Emre going, Taylor being linked with a move away, and Martins supposedly going to Arsenal, what on earth is going on? We should be buying and increasing the squad depth. Now, we are going to be down to the bare bones as the prospect of any new arrivals looks very bleak. There is transfer activity at virtually every club except Newcastle. I just don't see the point of Wise and co being there as 'scouts'. What are they scouting exactly? New recipes for mince pies? Get it sorted Keegan and Ashley!

ollie1988 (U12285035) posted Jun 11, 2008 he lacked consistancy. he would play 1 great game followed by 4 bad ones, then a great one again etc etc. i did like him, he seemed to be loyal to the club, but i'm not too fussed that hes left. we gotta trim the fat Comment on this article
