WarringtonSaint (U9634375) posted Jun 1, 2008 Saints fans need a reality check: Last season we lost the parachute payments but wages increased by 30%. This is despite selling our best players (Bale, Jones, Baird) and buying lesser players. The result of this madness is that we are losing £1m per month with a team that stayed in the Championship by 1 goal. None of this was caused by Lowe who would never have allowed the wage bill to spiral so out of control! I hoped that Pearson would be given a chance but perhaps he wasnt the right man for our new circumstances. Lets hope that Rupes has got it right (some of his appointments were inspired - Jones, Hoddle, Strachan) and that we can move forward!
