Mark Webber's Monaco weekend in pictures

Formula One
comment on the article

In his latest column for the BBC Sport website, Red Bull driver Mark Webber takes us behind the scenes at the Monaco Grand Prix.

Mark took a camera with him to Monaco, and he tells the story of his weekend in pictures.

It includes a cycle ride with Tour de France legend Lance Armstrong, meeting Manchester United's Michael Carrick, as well as a look at some of the key people helping Mark at the team.

Read the column news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/mot... and let us know what you think.

And if you have a question for Mark, please let us know, and we will put a selection to him for a later article.

Nice pics, particularly the one in the pits, we never get to see it from the drivers POV.

I don't have a question per-se, but could he describe breifly his motorsport career thus far in-terms of how/when he got into racing and how he made his way up through the various catagories into F1.

Mark isn't skinny at all. He's VERY fit and he trains really much for it.
I love the column (the way Mark describes everything as it is, the column is special, very interesting to read) and it makes me admire Mark as a personality. What he does for fans is great. Those pictures really show the atmosphere of Monaco GP I've never been to. Thank you Mark! Please don't pay your attention to negative comments here as we (people who support you) appreciate what you do on and off track. You're a wonderful person!
Good lucksmiley Waiting for the new columns from you!
P.S. And thank you Andrew Benson for suresmiley

I agree Mark is not too skinny but super fit- Racing drivers are elite athletes and train hard to drive a F1 racing car for 2 hours on the limit, during testing and qualifying.
Mark congrats on your 4th place at Monaco! Thanks for your camera insight into a Grand Prix weekend. I have always wondered what the heck you guys looked at on the screen during qualifiers (now I know).

Questions: Do you find the 2006 PS3 F1 Championship edition to (like your colleague Lewis Hamilton) to be good preparation/simulation for a Grand Prix?
If you do; are your times on the PS3 comparable to your actual drive times, ceteris paribus?
Do you or other F1 drivers have any in input in the next F1 game scheduled for 2009 release?

Good luck for the rest of the season!

Dear Mark(and Andrew)

Thanks for one of the most interesting columns in F1. I think it just gets better and better. The photo's of Monaco showing a little of what we rarely see is fantastic, and thanks Mark for the insights. Congratulations on the 4th place and the great start to the season. I was(as a fan) hoping one of the front 3 might break down in the last few laps but wasn't to be. At least you weren't in Sutils position, turns out taking the tyres early was actually a blessing. Cheers!

Great column. It's nice to hear from the drivers whatever they have to say. I've only just realised how hot MW is!!! Keep up the good work Mark, both on and off the track x

Fantastic reading and great pictures! Its awesome to see a weekend from a driver's point of view too, especially one who does as much inside and outside the paddock as Mark.

Great result aswell with 4th. How he hasn't been snapped up by a top team I don't know.
