QPR next season................

Championship QPR

QPR fan in peace here.

Reading a lot of threads on here and it seems that there is a real hatred for us now? Its fairly obvious that this is all down to the fact that we have substantial backing at the club due to the Indian billionaires,(yes, another one has joined the share holders) and Bernie and Flavio.

The fans at QPR are not stupid and we all know that money doesnt buy glory anymore, just ask Chelsea. We know that it can only go one of two ways and that is either we start the season flying and end up uncatchable or we have a rotten start and the pressure starts on Dowie and the players.

QPR is not Chelsea. We will still have the fans following the club this season that have been there for the last 40 to 50 years. Yes there will be the odd glory hunter that cant get in at the bridge or Cottage but that happens everywhere.

I cant wait for the new season to start as I know every other team in the Championship will be desperate to beat us as everyone in the Premiership was with Chelsea. I just hope that the proper football fan will appreciate that we have had no control on who has bought the club and now we find ourselves in a position that we have never been in before. We have been very lucky, dont hold it against us.

Good luck to all for next season.

foresthoop.

Thanks for the good luck.know we will need that too. As for the two front guys. Well, Fuller should be O.K. We think he may get a little more time in the Prem. Who Know's? I was a the game you mentioned. You were the best team on the day. No complaints. Know what you mean about reading. That's the easy part. I was just trying to put my point over about fans expection's. Anyway.. All the best for Next Season.

People will start hating QPR when you go on other fans boards and start posting rubbish, pointless drivel saying that clubs like Palace are jealous of your club (of what? I'm not sure). It's on the palace board for all to see.

Palace fans are always gonna say something about QPR as you have Dowie, Hall, Leigertwood and possibly Morrison.. All ex Palace, but to start with the jealousy comments is a bit silly. It starts you on the rocky road to being loathed.

PS. I'm only on your board because it's the main thread on the BBC homepage.

obviously QPR will be a bigger club now and will probably become a premiership club in the near future but hte championship is a very hard league to get out of adn when they are in the premiership they i doubt theyll go straight into the top 4.

i reckon theyll turn into a team like totenham/newcastle they spend alot of money and will probably make europe but apart from that who knows.

If players have a choice between Man Utd/Chelski/Arsenal/Liverpool or QPR i still feel they would join one of the former. They still dont have the 'reputation'as the big clubs.

Although i have to admit i would love this to happen to my club, Watford.

The post by andylinighanscheeks is spot on.
Nothing annoys supporters more than some cocky so and so coming on and posting a load of rubbish and just trying to provoke a reaction.
As a QPR fan i certainly have no love for Chelsea and was happy to see them lose out to Man Utd in Mowcow, but i don't 'hate' them.
Their fans have no say in how their club is run. They didn't have any say when Abramovich bought the club and started bankrolling them.
Same applies to QPR - having followed the club for the past 30years and almost seeing them fold, we can only be thankful that Ecclestone/Briatore etc have come along and injected some money.
Whether we become another Chelsea remains to be seen but whatever happens its us the fans who have the emotional tie to our clubs.
For the rich owners is just a hobby to throw a bit of spare cash at.
Yes - as a QPR fan i'm happy that hopefully we will be challenging for honours soon rather than fighting relegation year after year.
Well done to Stoke,Hull and WBA on promotion and maybe we will be joining you soon in the Premiership.

For all their money i don't see how QPR can become a real 'big club' unless they invest in improving their stadium as currently loftus road moulds seemlessly into the council estates surrounding it! Without the floodlights ud barely know it was there!

Quite right - we will never be a Man Utd filling a 70,000 seat stadium week in week out.
I think most R's fans will be happy just to see us back in the Premiership with a competetive team - if we see European football then that will be great.
How much money our owners decide to put it remains to be seen.

I'm not a lover of Chelsea, but when you talk to some of their fans, as i have, you'll find they are arrogant & big headed. Saying how brilliant their team is & that QPR are crap. But i can see them falling flat on their face & it could'nt happen to a nicer club. As for a bigger stadium, i think it will be necessary for the future of the club. I saw Gerry Francis on sky sports recently & he said they need a 50,000 to 60,000 capacity stadium. But where would they build it? At one time i heard talk of building a 60,000 stadium on the scrubs. Gerry Francis suggested Northolt. What do you other R's fans think?

Long time reader, first time poster.

2 points here, In regard to the new ground, I think wormwood scrubs would be preferable to Northolt if only because of the travel links. We could redevelop the Linford Christie arena. In regards to the influx of money, its always nice to have money and nice to be able to get better players with higher salaries but when and if these people lose interest you have the situation of who can afford to take the club over and keep funding it at current levels. Think chelsea here, there are not many richer people than abramovic so who could afford to take over such a club with a wage bill which is not covered by the gate receipts, sponsorship and prize money. That being said, i look forward to the new season with unusual expectation for a QPR Fan.

chelseabadgerfc, considering the money your club has you should have won something this season. But you ended up with nothing & wth your so called talent could only beat us 1-0 in the cup. The simple fact is Chelsea are rubbish & boring. I bet you wish you could play football like Arsenal, who are by far the best passing team in Europe, if not the world. Still i suppose you can dream hahaha. Also for such a big club is'nt your ground a bit small, maybe your not such a big club after all hahaha. I think your jealous coz we've got more money than you & we are not owned by a crook like Chelsea are hahaha laugh

you're right i wish we could play nice football like arsenal who i agree do play thwe nicest football in europe....but sadly we havent got skillfull players like fabregas and hleb!

as you know we played a weakened side against you (i played the second half with tea lady) and you still didnt create a chance! fa cup is all about the result...

as for crowd..we dont need a bigger ground as we struggle to fill ground now aganst the smaller teams..much like you but you struggle to fill it against the bigger clubs!

as for winning things man ure deserved league spurs and barnsley done us fair and square and as for champs league it was not to be...but at least it gave you lads something to cheer about..good luick for next year!
