Trent Bridge seems to be a bit of a 'bogey' ground for England becos England have not won there since 2005. It is my favourite ground in England.

England lost to Sri Lanka in 2006 to Murali's magic and India in 2007 in an ill-tempered match.

Cud be another good battle with the spin - Monty vs Vettori.

I hope NZ can finally win at Trent Bridge but i wont hold my breath.

Each option has its merits DL.
How to get him firing best in 12 months time is the most important point, lets hope they get in right with him.

Its interesting to note that Andersons test stats are so far from his first class ones but even more interesting to note that he has played in 24 Test matches!!

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!

How many chances does he need to show he can't make the step up?

Look at Australia

They dont chop and change their Batsmen, bowlers all the time

They had Langer, Martyn, Gilchrist, Warne & McGrath

Now they have Hodge, Symonds, Haddin, Clark & M.Johnson.

They have many good players for the future even tho many of these players are in their peak like S.Watson, Voges, Hopes etc

“Look at Australia

Perhaps that is because they are good enough not to have to.

Dammit I was desperately trying not to patronize the NZ team!

It was unfair and I retract that statement, I just hate Anderson so much that I will stoop to any level to try and prove my point!

Please forgive me!!

Vettori is skill....

And I like Orams hair...

And Mcullum is smart...

There!!! Better??

ha! Ok, i'll forgive you! Sorry, I get a bit precious about Jamie How, he had a poor start to his test career, which is why his average is still pretty rubbish - but he's a genuine class batsman who can build an innings, rather than the Kiwi way of bashing a pretty 40 and getting out ... I predict he will be a NZ opener for a long time yet, and will end up with a pretty handy record ... His current ODI average of 42 is testament to his ability as well ...

As an aside, anyone else think it's suspicious that the major larriken for each team is out of the ODI series ... What are the odds Jesse 'Easy' Ryder and Fredalo went out on a bender together and missed the bus? winkeye

The odds are high! What is it with these two? So much talent and so little brain......

Oh, and by the way, Scott Dixon rules....!

How very gratifying to see so many of those media pundits who had written off the England team, doing their drip drip drip of poison against Vaughan, Strauss and others being proved absolutely wrong.

Hats off to the Kiwis for putting the wind up the England team, as well. The difficult preparation bodes well for England versus South Africa, I'd say. If they'd won comfortably against New Zealand at Old Trafford which is one of their favourite grounds it could be more difficult for the future.

That is one that I can agree with. New Zealand are giving England some tough practice before the series against South Africa. Certainly it will do the team more good than three innings victories in three days would. It does not make us world beaters, but the manner of the Old Trafford victory suggests that the side is capable of stepping-up for bigger challenges: South Africa will certainly provide those.
