So the 3rd player I've been to scout in my build up to the World Cup is Gareth Hock. Super League Young Player of the Year five years ago, but has since had his career hampered by a ridiculous run of injuries.
I'll admit I've had my doubts about Hock - was a bit dubious when Noble selected him for GB. But this season he's looked the real deal. I'd already seen him destroy Bradford a couple of months ago, and wanted to see how he'd cope with Morley and co in the Warrington Wolves pack.
Hock was the best player on the pitch and produced the kind of dominant display that makes an England fan pretty excited ahead of the World Cup.
Subtle hands, game-breaking offloads, deceptive pace and brute power.
And when Trent Barrett starts raving about him you get the impression the player could become pretty special.
Let me know your thoughts - is Hock a certainty for Smithy's final 17? Check out my article on the BBC Sport website, give me your thoughts on Hock's chances, and also your own scouting views on who else I should be looking at. Penny, Westerman, Clough and Atkins are all on the hit-list.
