Davenport Pulls Out of French Open

French Open

Lindsay Davenport has pulled out of the French Open because of "personal reasons". The former world no.1 was a rank outsider, but hit a good run of form last year. However, the American is yet to rediscover that form this year.

Consosu -Serena i think is favourite for rg and i think she has a good chance to win it and ahve a chance of taking over number 1 from sharapova...Do you realis that davenport was never going to play rg cause as we know she has never been the biggest fan of rg...So i believe she is saving herself for wimby....

Conosu2 - something tells me that you're not nearly cool enough in real life to use the term "jog on"

Or did you actually do it while putting up the V sign and blowing a raspberry?

I didn't think Lindsay was going to play in the French Open anyway_...she had commented that she was skipping the clay season altogether, so no big shake in her not playing...I know she hates the Clay courts in Europe...Her eye is keenly on Wimbledon and Eastbourne....

Davenport is in the twilight of her career, so she can pick and choose her tournaments....

Erm Lindsay was never playing this tournament anyway.... she stated earlier in the year that she was skipping the clay season and had no desire to play at Roland Garros!

would be great to see venus repeat her wimbledon tricks. Love her smile when she's on form and well worth seeing the others lose over! Davenport would be interesting from a come back point of view but her matter of fact style would already make it a boring win. who would the big oursider for a wimbledon 2008 win be?
radwanska seems to have the right measure of herself on a good day and couldn't look less fazed by situations if a double decker bus flew into the net. any wild guesses for wimbledon ladies champion this year?
