MAN UTD ( RONALDO) REAL MADRID

Premier League Manchester United
comment on the article

2007/2008 season
Ronaldo: 30 goals, 7 assists
Rooney: 14 goals, 13 assist (Balanced Player)

2006/2007 Season
Ronaldo: 17 goals, 13 assists
Rooney: 11 goals, 11 assists

Manchester United Fans are so obsessed with Ronaldo. His flicks, flinches and flips have blurred almost every one at Utd. They can see imbalances, inappropriateness and inadequacy in Ronaldo’s game.
Your best attacking players are Rooney and Tevez.

1- Ronaldo’s poor balance between scoring and assists.
From 06/07 to 07/08 Ronaldo went down from 13 assists in 06/07 to 7 only in 07/08.
It really shows that Ronaldo has become a big selfish player. Promoting himself.

Other interesting aspects of Ronaldo’s game you should look:

2- Shots taken: NECESSARY SHOTS (it was necessary to shoot) / WASTEFUL SHOTS (should have passed the ball).
He must have taken more shots than any other attacking player in the league.

3- Number of goals scored / Number of Shots taken (Scoring/Shots Ratio or SSR)
Compare Ronaldo SSR ratio to Rooney and Tevez. They have a higher scoring percentage per shots taken. They just pass the ball more frequently. Should they have taken as many shots as Ronaldo, each of them could have reached the 30 goals mark.
But they play team football.

4- Scoring/ free kick ratio (Goals scored from free kicks)
compare it to Steven Gerrard’s or Lampard’s. Gerard and Lampard are better free kicks takers.
5- Ball possession time, or time spent with the ball on his feet, compared to any other Man Utd players.

Ronaldo scoring can be easily accomplished by other players.

Sell him; buy a RW and Striker (SWP and Crouch or Lennon & Ashton). United will be more effective, more likely the team as a whole will score more goals.

Why should Ronald move to Madrid?
COMMERCIAL AND FINANCIAL REASONS.
Real are looking for good players, but more importantly, they need a player who can generate as much money as Beckham did for them.
Real merchandises sales have dropped since the departure or David Beckham, Zidane, Roberto Carlos, Ronaldo (Brazil).
Their worldwide attractiveness has incredibly tarnished, despite winning La Liga.
They are looking for Money Maker Players.
Ronaldo is one of the few players who can boost Real merchandising and promotional deals.
Not because of his playing efficiency, but because of his “Marketability”.
Real have the largest number of fans worldwide. They will maximize Ronaldo’s merchandising and endorsement revenues, much more than Man Utd would ever do.
Ronaldo total annual revenues including all promo, sponsoring, playing contract, endorsement were estimated at around 13.5M Euro (9M Pounds) in 2007.
Ronaldinho received an estimated amount of 23.8M Euro,
Beckham collected 35.7M Euro or 24.4M Pounds.
I am persuaded that Real Madrid are able to double Ronaldo numbers from 13.5 M Euro to more than 25M in 2 seasons.
Man Utd Can not.
Let him join the only club where he can achieve the highest annual revenues. Let him

YAAAAAAAAAWN...

Seriously I hope Utd report Real to FIFA. How they can make the comments publically they are without ever at any point approaching the club is a disgrace. It's not press speculation or even cloak and dagger tapping up its a public and campaign and direct comments from seinior club officials, it's a disgrace.

And for those who will no doubt insinuate Fergie and Man Utd are being hypocritical... no other club behave like this publically at least not Man Utd, Chelsea, Barcelona, Inter Milan or Juventus, press speculation aside!

point of order ...
Real's 'history' owes much of its success to the first 10 years of european club football when hardly any other leagues were constructively competing in it .. even if they did have Di Stefano ... one man does not make a team. So realistically R.Madrid are a 5 euro cup team relevantly speaking .. AC Milan are more successful.
Secondly,Man Utd were, up until they sold Beckham the biggest commercial soccer enterprise in the world ... globalisation has only recently dawned on the other european giants ... and now the mantle of biggest club is back at Old Trafford.
Lastly, you say R.Madrid have the largest fan base in the world? .. I think not. For the very reason that Man Utd have been a globalised product because of the Munich air crash (unfortunately) .. I'll think you'll find that the Old Trafford has a significantly larger stake in the far flung reaches of the soccer loving world.

Hate to say it but I think he will be gone. He just didn't look convincing when he said "I stay". Having said that it's a good way of getting yet another pay rise. Don't care what Meek says, every player has his price and I reckon over 50 million is his.

of course ronaldo hasnt had very many assists this year. hes a winger and hes crossing it in to the shortest strikeforce in the league. if man utd buy a out and out striker he will get assists and lots of them

I think he'll stay in man utd for now - he has a winner status here. I don't think he's ready to loose it now. Remember Henry: in Arsenal he was the 1st but in Barcelona he's just "one of the 1sts". Maybe man utd will grant on lease him.

CR says he will only go to RM if they match Utd's valuation of him.

In that case, Utd just need to say ( publicly ) that they value him at 200m cash ... and won't even discuss a transfer that falls a penny below this valuation.

End of story for CR's constant whinging and RM's pathetic posturing ....

i hope he does leave. He's a selfish player who likes to take all the glory. He's not a good player. Very overated.
