Well a back line with hodgson, allen, noon did alright against NZ a couple yrs ago when allen was nowhere near ready (and threw that interception).
I think noon is a great guy to have at 13 if hodgsons playing 10 cos CH gets so flat and fires miss passes.
Dont think hel work too well with flood tho, again i dont think you really need a second fly half when ur first is playing so flat.

strettle is nowhere near one of the fastest in the prem. he is not that quick to be honest, just very elusive and has a great step. both monye and varndell are a lot quicker than him, among others.

also just want to say i think adam powell and richard haughton are very unlucky to miss out on both squads. Powell probably saxons, but haughton would have been no surprise in the senior squad hes bn so impressive of late.

The debate about Strettle is getting old now, I think the guy proves week in week out for Quins (which I see for myself)where as most of you guys judge him on what you see him do in a white shirt (Try on debut, most exciting moment of Englands 6 nations this year) or the tiny highlights package on the rugby club so let people that know tell you Strettle is amazing fast with a quality step and is deceptivily strong.

You try putting any wing in the Prem in Strets posistion against Lecister having to turn and chace a Varndell in full flight, I doubt any would catch up with the guy.

And also yes pace is important but to be an international winger you need so much more, importantly a rugby brain which Strets has and Vardell dosent hence his inclusion in the Saxsons.

So just wait and watch Strets tear up the Barbarians and then New Zelenad.

Rant Over

Strettle is obviously not as fast as varndell but it is a bad comparisson because against tigers varndell kicked and strettle would of had to turn and try and catch him. Varndell is at least in the top 5 wingers in the world in terms of pace, actually he is faster than habanna. Strettle on the other hand has imense acceleration and balance as well as the ability to make something out of nothing, this is why to say he is not fast enough is un realistic as he is a similar speed to sackey who would sureley be nailed in the team if available because of his consitency this season.

'strettle was found wanting when varndell burn't him for pace for matchwinning try the other week'

The only wings in the world I can think of who'd have a chance having to turn to defend against Varndell's pace would be Habana and Rokocoko. And I'm not convinved that either of them would get there first (likewise if either of them forced TV to turn and chase I'd back them to score).

Personally I'd like to see Strettle and Varndell play together, as this would give England two very different threats on either wing.

I'd agree - apart from I'd let Hartley have a go. Shame about the cup and league finals as Barkley tucked in that backline would make it interesting.
Will Skinner to skipper

You may be defending yourself against a ludicrous comment as it is obvious that Strettle is quick enought ot play for England. However, to suggest the top try scorer in the league lacks a rugby brain is a little silly. Varndell has been starved of ball and has had to create himself chances which is a lot harder in misfiring Tigers team who revert to keeping it in the forwards when things get tough.

Personnally I'd have Tindall as skipper he has more experience than Skinner and in a backline so young we need someone to organise things. Which is why Noon shouldn't be involved he lacks the organisational abilities.
