Champions League final - your thoughts

European Football
comment on the article

Battle of Britain. North v South. Trafford Centre v King's Road. Call it what you will, this match is huge.

In the red corner, Manchester United: Two time European Cup winners and reigning league champions. Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic are the left and right gloves of a United defence who were crowned the stingiest in the Premier League. At the other end, the attacking combination of Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the most feared in Europe.

In the blue corner, Chelsea: London's finest and league runners-up, with an enviable wealth of talent at their disposal. Gutsy and stubborn - they will fight to the very last second. Centre-backs John Terry and Ricardo Carvalho will not fear United's potent attack, while Didier Drogba is arguably the best all-round striker in England.

What they say:

Former Chelsea player and manager, Ruud Gullit:
"I hope, of course, that Chelsea win it. Whoever won the championship, the other one was always going to want revenge in the final, so that is good for Chelsea. They will be fully loaded and up for it. They won't want to lose another trophy after being so close. I think Chelsea will win 2-1."

Former Man Utd player, Gordon Strachan:
"I think it is fate that Man United are going to win, with it being 40 years since their victory in 1968 and 50 years since the Munich disaster. With the ability and talent and drive they have got, I think they will win."

Former England cricket captain and Blues fan, Alec Stewart:
"I will be watching the match in the Luzhniki Stadium with my regular, fellow season-ticket holding mates. I'll be in and out of Moscow in a day. It will be a closely fought contest between the two best sides in English football, and one goal will separate them. I think it will be 2-1 to Chelsea. Drogba and Ballack the scorers."

They've had their say, now have yours.

MikeyComet (U9937044) - Nothing further to say to you other than you are a muppet who clearly does not know what he is talking about.
As i said before half the england squad will be playing tonight and 80% of the first team. Do you really reckon no one in the country will not tune in to watch our best 2 teams - u r a fool and an ignorant 1 at that.
Do you really reckon half of portugal wont tune in to watch their players for both teams, as with france, ivory coast and probably the red half of milan to watch schevas last 20 minutes of the game.
I am obviously not a neutral i am a united fan but i respect chelsea as a great team and am looking forward to a good game tonight as are all the city fans and scousers i know hoping chelsea win. How about if you dont care about this match go away and stop getting on this page annoying every1

I am the only man that truely sees tomorrow. It will be an interesting march. Ronaldo will be given a red card along with Essien. Chelsea will win at the end. Score line 2-1.
(Please note, i do not support any team)

If it goes to penalties, like many think it will I think we'll lose out to United.

I'm hoping for an interesting game though, obviously.
I'm gonna go with 2-1 for Chelsea. I think they want it more, even if United deserve it more.

It'll also make next season more interesting if Chelsea and United have a cup each.

Bluuuuue is the colourrrr.

it's going to be a huge surprise 4 the devils; 2-0. An early minute goal from a mid-feeder, either Ballack or Lampard, and a very late goal from the best attacker in England, my brother Drogba.
