100% agree w/ajmant.

Europe will win in September with the right man in the right place at the right time. That's Faldo.

Monty will only be a playing part of it if he earns his way there, either by qualifying for the team or by producing a rich vein of form between now and August.

Neither seems likely at the moment.

There must be a reason why almost every player on both tours cant stand the sight of the guy!

Lets wait and see eh but the team spirit wont be in our camp this time believe me!

You really love faldo.

He is only the best British golfer of the modern era.

Whether you like him or not try and be more supportive to the European team.

I used to love Faldo and admire his clinical style of play and mental attitude - However now that he commentates in the States he has become an absolute wimp and can never stop talking about how wonderful Woods is playing or how great a ball striker Mickleson is - To be honest I think he has already given the Ryder cup to the US in his mind - Such a shame because I was a fan, now I just cringe when he opens his mouth

well ive heared alot more good said about faldo than bad by alot of the pro's...
he was resented as a player like..for his brilliance...
and e has sponsored alot of the talent also and passed on advise...
also people think he is hated cos he dosnt get on we 3 big people involved or would liked to be involved...Tiger,Monty and azinger but both captains dine out togeher and commentate together so i feel its just banter...and when azinger was ill, faldo was the first big name player from europe to vidit him and insisted he fought it and got back to playing as he missed the rivalary..
and i heared that from butch harmon on sky spots... he said the rivalry was real during their playing carears but has been dragged up to stir up the ryder cup frenzy...and i forgot to ask who is the 2 most high profile and proberly best players in world? tiger and mickleson in my opinion and they hate eachother...so if mickleson takes USA captainsy 1 year does that mean he should be critisied cos he nd tiger didnt gt on in their careers?

Listen rpbabylon, Nick Faldo made his contribution to european golf by being the best he could be and not being frightened to beat the Americans the same as Seve.
At his best he was and to date still is the best we have ever produced. I am sure if he put his mind to it he could still give most of todays superstars a run for their money providing it was not an overly long track.
It takes unbelievable dedication and focus to achieve what he did and allthough he was not Mr. Charisma he got the job done and will do the same as a captain (which is more than desrved)
As for your diatribe regarding most players on both tours hating him, have you actually talked to them or are you so naive that you believe all the rubbish the press write ?? Which is one of the reasons Faldo refused to talk to them at one point, just sick of having his words mis-quoted to stir emotions.
You are really helping the moral of the team by spouting this c*#P (sure your not american?)
or did he refuse to sign an autograph for you at some stage ? doh

Faldo is once again shwing his dedication...
cos he has pulled out of the open to concentrate on his team for ryder cup...just shows he is already that he is gonna be a good captain..
how many other acting captains (at time of captain the teams) have done that? my bet is none!!

im gutted .
i actually go to the open to walk around with nick faldo.
the amount you can learn watching him knock his ball around a links course is imeasurable.
it was only 3 opens ago he was lighting up st andrews with his birdie, eagle finish on the last day to tie 10th i think.
he has stated many times that he will play the open untill he drops and i can see no real advantage at not playing as regards the ryder cup.
unfortunately i believe nick [like the masters] is probablly getting paid a huge amount of money by the us tv networks to commentate.
sad ,very sad for his real fans like me!

monty seems light years away from his best.
if he can't make cuts how on earth can he expect a wildcard
