England - New Zealand

comment on the article

Well, after a rain-plagued day three of the first Test, let's hope for better on day four.

As before, Tom Fordyce will shortly be bringing you the live text coverage - but how do you think this match could be played to a positive result, short of any Hansie Cronje-style "dodgy declaration" shenanigans?

Apologies for yesterday, as 606 was down for most of the day due to technical problems - but get involved and join the debate!

Here's the live text:

This maybe a close test match but we need 10 wickets to win this match.
Thats fun isnt it?
10 to take while New Zealand slog it around Lords!
Even theh, we need Monty to be on the best form of his life, this Lords pitch will offer countless spin for Monty, so he must take his chance should England get 3/4 wickets from Broad, Anderson and Sidebottom.

But close test matches always provide exciting moments. Thats a fact)))

Its sad to say that such a POOr team like NZ will bring out a Tight game etc,England should be blowing teams like NZ away NOT making TIGHT games of them, just goes to show How POOR ENgland really are. Now thats FACT ok

Some idiot said "without Vaughans knock (106) England would be in trouble". Its also the comment the BBC decided to use.

What rubbish. Its a team effort.

McCullum also got 97 for New Zealand by the way. They cancel each other out.

606 is so full of shit sometimes.

True enough England would have been sunk without Vaughans 100, but what a turgid batting display by England. I was at Lord's yesterday and only Cook,Sidebottom and Broad looked like trying to push the run rate along. All the others looked complacent and happy to trickle along for a draw. Where's the fight? -England should have pushed on got 120ish lead and put them back in after tea and try for the win. As for Vaughan's ton it had all the attacking flair of Geoffrey Boycott !!

Very rough night last night, currently sitting at work listening to customers chew my ear off for a very well known insurance company. Theres a million and one things i'd rather do, see and hear one of which is the soooothing lull of Geoffery Boycott's voice, combined with the noise of ball on bat. Chuck in a few sidebottom screams and i'm anyones.
