Daniel Vettori has been an excellent and sometimes underrated player now for many years. I have always been a fan and agree that he could bat higher up NZs order - probably anywhere in the top 4 at the moment! smiley I guess the difficulty for NZ is that for some time they have had a side with batting strength through the middle order, so someone as good as DV still finds himself lower down.

His bowling is still average.

Dongfloyd, Vettori is still the No1 left hand spinner in the world. His ability on non responsive pitches still outfoxes some of the worlds best batsmen. The likes of Monty Panesar need to learn, while they have the chance, skills of the master !

Vettori is a fantastic captain in the making.

It wud help his status if he can inspire New Zealand to a famous victory over England in England's own backyard.

I hope he can - New Zealand are looking to be a force in Test cricket but still some way to go.

Daniel Vettori is a fantastic spin bowler and good lower order batsman.
