Great result after Monday night.
The final awaits. Better performance - far more clinical and a credit to Carlisle who must count themselves a littel unlucky in playing us in the semis.
Midfield played a lot better. Still concerned re Beckford who seems very rusty and very petulant. Becks - goal off his backsde in the final? Don't bet against it.

Though it will always be known as Howson's night it is Freedman who has been the best player since coming - Great signing from Gary Mac.
His cross for the first and a sublime flick-pass for the second -it gets better and better watching it on replay - just sensational (not forgetting his all important goal on the first leg).

Onward and upward

Leeds deserve it anyway as they have had too many points taken off them in the last 2 seasons. They would have got automatic otherwise.

Not a fan of Leeds but you've got to take your hat off to the desire they showed to get that result.

Doncaster V Leeds final would be good. Hull for the Premier League. Not a bad season for Yorkshire, just wish the Blades had started firing on all cylinders before the end of the campaign.

Not sure what to make of Leeds, but with Ridsdale now at pastures new (and seemingly a somewhat reformed man - doesn't mean I won't abandon my normal neutrality to support Pompey tomorrow...) I suppose we have to see the club as almost a new one (of course, it was literally becoming just that for business purposes that put them in the points doo-doo, if memory serves), and given the fact they've played very well this season it is probably for the best that they go up.

Plus it means that after all that, the 1-2-3 on merit go up... probably the least controversial outcome of this season winkeye

Very very nervous night. Had to endure the evening in the Carlisle end which made things a lot worse. Completely different team from the first leg. Just hope the good one turns up next week

Absolutly nail biting game.
Leeds needed the early goal, so they weren't panicking towards the end.

Leeds were a reformed team from the team that lost at Elland Road on Monday night. Dougie Freedman involved in the goals in each leg, what a fantastic loan signing, could do with signing a player of his quality. For if we get promoted we'd be looking to stay there.

The game was fantastic, and it was a competitive fight. Unlucky Carlisle, but well done Leeds!

Good luck for the final in Wembley!

Can anybody tell me how it is that the Doncaster/Southend playoff had a week between both their games and Carlisle/Leeds only had 3 days? It hardly seems fair.
