Avram blasts Steve Bennett

Chelsea
comment on the article

"I can say that after the game we won against Manchester United to get level on points, we knew that they had to play West Ham at home and Wigan away and that it was not in our hands," said Grant.

"I told you that I believed in the tradition of the fair English game. I will not say anything against it. But what happened is what I expected.

"In England there are very good referees, but there are some - a few that you can influence, like you saw.
"I think in our game against Manchester United at Old Trafford, the referee (Mike Dean) influenced the result for sure. We know that.

"I think the red card for Mikel John Obi in that game should not have been a red card, I think that Paul Scholes should have had a red card on Sunday and Wigan a penalty also. But it is finished. I congratulate Manchester United."

Exactly! Who can actually say Bennett didn't gift that game to United. So annoying!!! We need a revolution in the EPL, too many bias ref's....

What, exactly is that all about?

chelsea are anti-football in the way they dont have a good youth system they just buy and buy and buy people for ridiculous amounts of money,

Sorry but as an Arsenal fan you must be having a laugh! laugh

I see so many young English players in the Arsenal side these days, or was that a mirage?

Arsenal have good young players as they scout throughout the world and buy the best youngsters.

Isn't that buying success???

comment above...
technically all teams "buy success"...
look at Portsmoyuth yesterday, they would have "bought" most of those players...

we buy young players and "develop" them... teach them how to play decent football...
chelsea play a one-dimensional, route one game...
and spend 400 million or whatever...
im not saying arsenal dont buy their success or players or w/e..
we just nurture what we've good and try and play decent football...

That is called 'poaching' mate.

If you did it in England you would have to pay clubs compensation.

As it is you buy good young players from poor clubs for small amounts of money. If those players were in England they would cost far more. Its like buying cheap clothes from sweat shops rather than Prada.

So no need to claim to moral high ground over us ok

The Arsenal bought Fabregas from Barcelona's youth team, and Henry from JUventus reserves. Are they the type of poor clubs you are referring to?

Oh.

So Flamini? Vieira? Which youth players have the Arsenal poached and from which clubs?

Oh right, so you buy players from Barca and Juventus reserves and 'teach' them how to play?

Such Genius...
Hardly scouring the European equivalent of Hackney Marshes is it?

No the point is that the Arsenal have not poached their current or past players from small clubs like in Hackney Marshes.

They have developed young potentially good players from big clubs, and most importantly, given them a chance. For instance you could argue that Henry would have gone through his career as an average pacy winger if he had moved to any other club or stayed at Juventus.

Someone mentioned earlier (5 weeks ago..) that Arsenal poach from small clubs, which is untrue.

He could have (Henry) but he probably wouldnt.

I just get a bit tired of this myth that Arsenal's team is built from young peasants who were discovered kicking a ball around barefoot in some dusty ghetto. (well, maybe a slight exaggeration)

and yeh the thread was a while ago wasnt it!?
Not here all that often...
