However, it's worth bearing in mind, this new pay deal is still miles away from what those over-paid, pre-Madonna football players get. COME ON ENGLAND!!!

CaptainSpectacular (U9208515) posted Aug 13, 2008 It doesn't surprise me that Johnno has only just started the job and already sorted out the pay dispute between the RFU and the england stars. Johnno was on the other side of a pay dispute in 2000 and I bet he has put a lot of pressure on the accountants at the RFU to resolve this in a satisfactory manner. I think its great to have someone in a position of power who has his finger on the pulse of rugby. Johnno's no nonsense attitude is reaping rewards already.

vinotackler (U6415807) posted Aug 14, 2008 I never played at this level but it is a professional game so I suppose payments are fair and at least it is performance based now - I wouldn't have paid some of them a penny for some of the rubbish lately!
