Ravi point taken, but this prime time T20

The part where domestic players should get a better deal is in first class

For that to work we need fewer sides

That will affect fringe players but then they should look for employment elsewhere if they are not good enough we need quality and not just having quantity in first class

IPL is not really a domestic tournament and it is going to get more internatioonal as other leagues start cropping up

That is a good thing as sub cont players in Pak, SL, BD and India will now have a stage to make entry in ODIs

For Tests a good first class structure is still a must

this is the last last last chance saloon for Ahktar surely he has enough sense not to screw that up and since the demands are just bowl fast for 4 overs should help him survive and indeed lengthen his career. If he continues to bowl fast and is sucessful, I cannot see how Pak will ignore him

The odd thing is Steyn and Lee also bowled at those speeds but they never had such a sucessful outing.

In fact only Tanveer 6 for and McGrath 4 for come close. There may be a few others but none I can recall

Was delighted to see passionate Shoaib back in form. What an entrance for a bowler to make his comeback - Eden Gardens. Great stuff.

Go Kolkata, lets clinch that playoff spot!

On the flip side, whatever happened to Delhi? They started at 4-1 and have now fallen off? With arguably the best openers in the league, Gambhir & Sehwag and reliable McGrath on the bowling side, they should have done better.

Akhtar will be lapping up the glamour of being in SRK's team. Didn't he have Bollywood aspirations himself? No wonder he is setting up to bowl out of his britches (and we all know he can when he feels like it.)

Albondiga, that was to suggest Top Order wickets, not tailenders. Laxmi Ratan Shukla got 3 tailender wickets in a single over, but the match was over when he came in at the 18th over.

I take your point but don't believe that any captain would have Akhtar bowling the 18th over of a 20 over game.

Yeah, with some swashbuckling dances thrown in for good measure. Lee would insist on doing his own singing as well, hindi or not.
