TLJ - I think you need to write the informative piece. Swann played for the Lions last week, missing a CC game. Shreck played for the Lions pre-season and could well again this season. Patel has been talked about for while now and wouldn't surprise me if he has a good season plays for the Lions as well. For the record, Broad was not snatched from Leics, he opted to leave at the end of his contract with 4 counties wanting his signature and Notts won that race.

Chris Read can handle the pressure as was shown against Pak at home and WI away. One thing that maybe affecting his mental state batting wise was he didn't like the fact that his so called head coach was bad mouthing him in the press and lording a Teflon gloved clown like Jones at every opportunity.

Jones is an imposter of no more than county standard and the ashes was won by the team and some large slices of luck not by the keeper as you infer.
We haven"t had a world class keeper since Jack Russell

Jack Russell was infinitely better as a Keeper and in fact had a better batting average as a keeper than Stewart when he kept wicket.

Stewart was a fine batsmen who kept wicket and would probably not have done if the balance of the side had been better.

stewart opened the batting, russell was lucky to be in at 7 or 8, stewart could keep as well as russell, and was one of england best and was also a good leader.

Who are you a relation?

Or have you just not seen Russell play?

Russell batted 7/8 BECAUSE HE WAS A WICKET/ KEEPER BATSMAN.

Stewart started opening and was very good at it - he later went ro 5/6 - BECAUSE HE WAS A BATSMAN/WICKET KEEPER.

DO you see the difference now?

Just about shows your lack of cricketing knowledge really. Let's not talk about Read's heroics in Australia despite a lossing cause.
