ryan giggs has been an amazing player and it does make you think what would england had done if he had played for them instead of wales.

Arsenal Fan here.

What can I say that has not already been said - Although Ill be happy if I never see another reply of "that" goal again, Ryan Giggs is one of the best players the top league has ever seen, not just for talent but his attitude. No dramtics on or off the pitch. A credit to Man Utd and a role model for football worldwide. Congratulations on a fantastic acheivement Mr Giggs.

lenkenny........ I am not a United fan or a football anorak so I don't have the info to hand.

But in answer to your question of how many appearances Bobby Charlton made as sub my guess would be.... none!

Bobby Charlton made 4 appearances as a substitute. The substitute system wasn't in place for most of his career. You started with 11 men and they finished with the same 11. Real men.

Substitutions during English league matches were first permitted in the 1965-66 season. During the first two seasons after the law was introduced, each side was permitted only one substitution during a game. Moreover the substitute could only replace an injured player. From the 1967-68 season, this rule was relaxed to allow substitutions for tactical reasons

I'm not a Utd fan (Bolton Wanderers, if you want to know), but I have to say that Ryan Giggs is one of the best professionals I've ever seen. Extremely modest in his behaviour, professional in all that he does, and fantastic as a player. I wish that all Premiership payers conducted themselves in the way that he does. But that's not gonna happen any time soon, is it?
