Who do you think is Man Utd's most consistent player this season?
i'm guessing most of you think it's Ronaldo. But, i think it's is carrick who has dominated the midfield.

A few statistics:
Funny how the BBC article doesn't even mention the fact that the best flowing attacking football this season was actually played by Arsenal.
Don't forget Arsenal only finished 2 points behind Chelsea and 4 points behind ManU.
Really not a lot in it, and although ManU deserved to win, the difference between Ronaldo's so called brilliance and Arsenals "not worth a mention" was only 4 points. Meaning that if we'd hung on for a win at old trafford instead of conceding two late goals, we'd have won the league by 1 points from Chelsea, and 2 points from ManU.

mysteriousblablabla,

If we'd hung on at the Emirates a bit longer you would been another 3 points out of it, it's all relative buddy. ok

Absolutely, and thats my point, but its just that if that one game had gone the other way, the positions would actually be reversed (Arsenal 1st, Chelsea 2nd, ManU 3rd).

All the players would still have had exactly the same performances...but its hard to imagine Ronaldo not getting the over the top media attention, even if ManU had been third.

They'd be better off saying that all the players in those three clubs were amazing, instead of singling out one guy who top scored, and whose team only just scraped home on top of the pile.

Also, why is it always the guy who scores the most goals who wins player of the year? Like a lot of people have pointed out, Rio in defense has probably been more influential this season, but people only ever look at one end of the pitch in football.

In all fairness, it is by some distance the more entertaining end.

Don't get me wrong, I love great defensive displays, I actually watch the Italians and French football, but I think goals is a far superior pulling point even in Europe.

Ronaldo's a good showman, he's no Zizou, but he's entertained enough to win the acclaim. ok

RONALDO scored against arsenal. home and away.

against liverpool.

against roma.

against lyon.

the only reason people think messi better than ronaldo is because messi is young and still enjoying his teenager ages. remember what ronaldo used to do in premier league. when he was young.embrassed people for fun.

what about rooney in euro 2004 only 18. against france and etc. now ronaldo and rooney has matured they think about team.unliike messi. against barcelona ronaldo scarfise himself for the team and played striker would messi be able to do that.no. what about rooney against roma an barcalona played right mid. rooney is better than messi and ronaldo. as a man united. apart from one skill he done to evra in the first leg. what did he do.

Messi looks awesome, and he was frightening against our defense in the second leg, but let's face it, he didn't score, and they what position did Barca end in La Liga this year?

Ronaldo has been great this season, but he's also had his off days. A new Man U record was set by the defence letting in 22 goals in the league, and have yet to concede in Europe. You can't just hand it to the defence. I've always said that Rooney isn't an out and out striker, and the amount he tracks back is unbelieveable (same as Beckham in his day). You cannot measure his value, and to that end I don't think you can measure any players value unless you are in the club day in day out.
Some say that Giggs has had a poor season by his standards, but can you measure the calming influence him and Scholsey have on the dressing room?
When they win the double, they will become legends, just like the '99 squad, and deservedly so.

In my opinion i think that the most consistent players for man u this season were Tevez, Carrick, Rio and Park due to them being the most hard working players on the fiels in every game they have played this season. Carrick has been amazing in that attacking and defensive midfield position being decisive in the penalty box when united were on the defensive and also for his vision to create chances and play some brilliant balls through to Ronaldo, Rooney and Tevez. Ji-Sung Park has also been a reliable and hard working player on the left and right wing especially in the champions league. Rio Ferdinand has been exceptional at the back in controlling and organising the defensive hence United having the best defensive record and concedeing the least amount of goals. And Tevez, he has been a consistent hard worker, goal scorer and overall player and whenever Tevez is on the field it always seems like United have that extra energy and boost.

Wow what a genius sports writer we have here!!! hahaha

Hey blablabla, IF (in capitals because there's no IF, ANDS or BUTS after 38 games, where all 3 teams in the top three were lucky and unlucky in DIFFERENT games in the season) Manchester United were a little more LUCKY and won ALL of their games and IF Arsenal were a little more UNLUCKY and lost ALL their games, they would be relegated!!

'Leagues' were generated to try and keep teams close together. '90mins + stoppage time' is something which happens in EVERY SINGLE GAME, but yes BlaBlaBla, i agree with what you actually meant to type, which is, Arsenal and their fans need to understand that they 'may' play for the whole game (90 minutes + stoppage/injury time) too! IF IF IF IF IF applause

i just read a bit more from mysteriousblablabla, what a funny guy!! IF Rio Ferdinand, did his job AND scored (lets settle for) 20 Goals which a defender should never get, like a winger shouldn't score 31, then yes, Ferdinand should win player of the year.. Myseriousblablabla, you should be a top top manager, maybe you are?! All i am saying is, you and a few other clowns (maybe your representatives) have all noticed something that all the best managers haven't noticed this year and that is that Rio Ferdinand was worth signing, more than Ronaldo! Lets be honest shall we sonny? You know he's awesome and you stink of jealousy, regardless of who you support and i would bet one year of my ridiculous salary that it's not Manchester United! cheers
