One Sided Summer

International Tests England

I would suggest that England will very comfortably win every test match this Summer bar interference from the weather.

So it could become rather predictable and one sided.

Not because England are such a magnificent team as if they were their recent results would not be so poor.

The reasons are :
(1) That this must be the weakest NZ team ever to arrive in England for a test series due to the retirement of their 3 best players Bond, Fleming and Styris. Without that trio this NZ team would struggle in the county championship.

(2) SA are clearly stronger as they have a few decent bowlers in particular Steyn. But the SA batting is dire and as a unit well below international standard and I'd say the weakest SA will have ever fielded in this country. They rely entirely on Kallis plus a few runs from Smith (his weaknesses now fully exposed in particular by Hoggard) and De Villiers who is not a bad player but flatters to deceive. The rest of the top 6 are poor, very poor and unlike previous SA teams none of the bowlers can bat and as England know only too well you rarely win test matches with a tail starting at 8.

England will absolutely MURDER the Kiwis in the One Dayers & Test Series.

The Kiwis are awful - only if Redmond continues his good form.

It will be a major miracle if Kiwis win anything but i hope they do win becos i cant stand England winning anything in Cricket especially here.

England has a few quality players in the team who on their day can take the game away fromthe opposition, be it Tests or ODIs.S.A. also some very good players but quota sysytem is hurting their build uo and composition of team. One wont be surprised at some leaving to play for ICL e.g. Nel.
As regards people from other countries and India in particular going to USA/other countries for studies,it is because most of them are the ones not able to get admissions in any good Colleget or Institute.Living in India they wont have ever become professionals but with financial backing from families they are able to do so outside India.
As regards Ravi Bala please do not mistake him for a Reresentative of the Indian Community but someone who lets his heart do the talking with predetermined/fixed ideas and wisdom would lie in ignoring his comments

<<And this is to DingFloyd. The best educational institutes in India are truly world class and are much better than any institute in Aus and are on par with the ones in the USA. The thing is, the Indian govt. ensures that the only way to get admission is if you are the absolute best among the student community or if you belong to a community that is given the luxury of affirmative action. Average and below average students go to USA, Aus etc. where education is good albeit expensive. I don't know why ravibala went to the USA but you DingFloyd, stop commenting on issues you don't know anything about.>>
He went to USA because of the caste problems Indian students have there.

Can and Aus embrace people of all race, why can't you give admission to people of your country?

Obviously you, DingFloyd, are not educated enough to understand the difference between affirmative action and "caste problems". There are no "caste problems" in the Indian education system, there are reserved seats for economically backward sections of the society, which includes lower as well as some upper castes. Once you get admission there are no "caste problems", everyone is equal and everyone works hard towards the progress of our nation. Affirmative action is necessary and has done a lot of good for our country. And to " why can't you give admission to people of your country?", didn't you read what I wrote; if you are part of the general category, ie. no reserved seats, then you have got to be the absolute best. The motto is "Shape Up, or Ship Out". Ravibala took the ship-out option not because he faced "caste problems". He wasn't good enough but had a bit of cash to splurge.
Don't ever pretend to know anything about India or for that matter, anything other than cricket. If you know something about cricket, DingFloyd, stick with cricket. Don't embarrass yourself with blatant displays of your ignorance.

Oh good, you're back ... on what basis have you worked this out? On the basis that NZ beat England easily in the ODI series in NZ? On the basis that NZ are ranked a lot higher in the ICC ratings? On the basis that England are a pretty average ODI team at the moment?

Yes England are favourites for the test series, but it won't be 'murder' ...

As for talking up Redmond, he's been a pleasant surprise - but i'd be more worried about Taylor, Oram, McCullum and Vettori if I were England

raw_agrro, I have Indian friends and they told me that they could not get into schools because even on the application form they reserved a line to write down your caste. I was also told that some schools demand that parents of those students must be educated if children are to be given admission. I heard from Indian friends. Maybe they're from different city that you are.

thar is nonsense you have to state which channell you are applying and in affirmarive action if you are claiming an en try based on a lower score bar you have o show proof

why don't we strick to discussing quotas in cricket makes more sense on this board

I watched documentaries and heard from Indian friends whose friends were at the receiving end of this caste and religion problems.

Of course we can stick to cricket but it was ravibala who started that topic.

Oh for christ sake! This is a bloody thread about NZ, England and SA ... how the hell did Indian caste arguments get into it? ... Please leave that sort of debate to a forum where it is appropriate.
