Adams back at Brighton

League One Brighton and Hove Albion
comment on the article

Micky Adams has been installed as Brighton boss for the second time.

Was chairman Dick Knight right to move Dean Wilkins aside after such a fine season in League One?

Can Adams rediscover the magic of his first spell in charge where he turned around the Seagulls' fortunes?

What do you think?

Adams has been a great asset to the club the last time he was at the albion. I have no doubt that he can take the club to the championship this season! With his experience he can keep us up their and possibly stay in the championship much longer than the other previous spells!

i think that this is a good appointment for brighton, i think that adams is a good championship manager and only had a bad time at coventry because of the lack of funds, adams did well at leicester cause we backed him in fan base, he had no money, but signed players on pay-as-you-play contracts which didnt add more debt to the club, he took over leicester after he inhereted a bunch of has beens i.e. dennis wise and signed players that he believed in and did well i.e. nicky summerbee, adams took us up through the period of adminastration and was banned from the market but somehow he still took us up and nearly kept us up, i cant blame the guy for thatm he got of to a bad start that season and resigned before we were in too much trouble, i think he will do well at brighton and look forward to seeing you next season, good luck lads and adams should get a good reception, cheers ok

Leicester Fan here - Great appointment by Brighton
He did a good job there before we came to Leicester and I would like to see how he goes up against Leicester when we play them.
Good move Brighton!

This is absolutely discusting the way our chairman and board have treated Dean Wilkins - he has done an excellent job considering everything that has happened this season and the budget he has been given - If Dick Knight kept his nose out of the managers job and got on with his own job this club would be better off - even better would be if DICK KNIGHT JUST WENT

So bhadeb is going on every message board-trying to spread her anti-Dick Knight bile everywhere. What a surprise.

We're still waiting for 'The Truth' from you. Any chance before I start collecting my pension?

I'm convinced you are Wilkins' wife-that would at least explain the pained look on his face all of the time.

Adams will do the same as many before (eg. Coppell, Horton, Taylor, Adams himself etc.)and use BHAFC as a springboard to another club. Wilkins was a loyal manager and did nothing to warrant this. How can we expect loyalty from a manager when this is how we treat loyal managers!

Whilst Wilkins has exceeded my expectations as manager there is no proof that he would have the potential to take us up a level and crucially, maintain a championship place. Whereas Adams does have a proven track record in this level of football and is a real friend of Brighton, having attended marches in support of the new stadium.

To those anti-Dick Knight moaners, I would point out that there would not be an Albion for you to comment on were it not for the unstinting efforts of Mr Knight and a few like-minded individuals.
Personally, I'm not interested in whether managers are loyal, just whether they are successful. Loyalty in football management only makes sense if you are at the top of the tree, eg Alex Ferguson. In the lower levels, any manager showing talent will surely be poached by a richer club, that's life.
