Fitness race for Lorenzo

Moto GP
comment on the article

Jorge Lorenzo faces a race to be fit for the next round of the MotoGP championship after a scan revealed the full extent of the ankle injuries he suffered when crashing in China.

The prospect will come as a big setback to the Yamaha rider after his sensational start to life in the elite class.

With the championship proving so evenly fought this season, do you think this could having a lasting impact on the outcome of the title race?

Or are you confident - as you would imagine Lorenzo is himself! - that he can overcome this setback?

Is it just that everyone has their share of good and bad luck over the season, and Lorenzo just happens to have had his now?

Your thoughts and opinions please...

Fingers crossed he'll be back to up to speed quickly. He did remarkably well in China considering. The boy has certainly got balls!

It will be a real shame if he misses out,his gutsy rides have brought some excitment back into what was a boring 2007 season, and along with Rossi and something i thought i would never say Pedrosa, they have reignited Moto GP. Hes a name for the future years,so take it easy Lorenzo, your time will come and i am sure you will win many championships.

It's not the end of the world if he misses the race in France, i can't see Rossi and Pedrosa going an entire season without a DNF or two. Never mind one for the future, i can't see why Lorenzo shouldn't challenge for the title this year and possibly win it.

Jorge Lorenzo is the natural replacement for Vale Rossi! He is immensely talented, has incredible self belief and enjoys racing! The battles between himself and Dani Pedrosa will be reminescent of Rossi/Biaggi, different styles and personalities, an explosive mixture.
Now that that the Yamaha is working, expect Lorenzo to be there at the end of the season. My money is on a Rossi/Pedrosa/Lorenzo top 3, you decide in what order!

i hope he can race, we need him to make a stellar season!!
not to mention the heart he showed in shanghai, i think he made alot of fans in that one race, watching him vainly trying to push his stalled machine off the start line was reminisant of the doohan mccoy days, which we hoped were of the past.
the boy can qualify, race, entertain and dig deep when the going gets tough!
what more can you ask??

Those guys are tough. I hope he is back on his bike as soon as possible. My only advice is to take it easy and listen to his doctors, he is still young and has immense future ahead of him. All what I hope is he does not damage his future.

The lad has plenty of guts & has won many new supporters - but he must not rush to get back whilst nursing such a bad injury how many racers lament not healing properly - sponsor pressure maybe to blame ?On another level. Hope you get back on track soon Jorge I need your points in the MCN fantssy race!!:D

A fantastic performance by Lorenzo today! In the post race interview you could see how drained he was by the pain. I've never seen a chair on the podium before either! A very brave drive indeed.

Lorenzo is by no doubt a very talented rider and is is one of the assets to motor GP's present and future audiences. My opinion is that Lorenzo should take it easy for a few races, just try to be consistent in whatever he does and in the end he'll be satisfied and be rewarded. I believe he can learn a thing or two about being patient and still consistent at the end of the season, it may pay off. Talk to Nickey Hayden, I believe he has some wisdom in him.
