Daveyboy (U10417890) posted May 7, 2008 unfortunately forza its in our culture. we think that by setting a target, we will somehow perfom better and reach it. like blaming foreign players, its really juist a way to deflect peoples attention away from the fact that the FA are imcompetent, most of our footballers lack basic technical skill at the highest level, and our grassroots system is a shambles....

micmania1 (U8286526) posted May 7, 2008 Isn't it a bit arrogant and naive to say World Cup sem finals when we didn't even qualify for EU 2008, nor have we even qualified for the world cup yet. One step at a time...

SURE the big teams dont buy english players but we still have heaps of good players anyway.

redthemadsheep2001 (U10944335) posted May 8, 2008 The FA are hopeless and Capello is not the right man but because of the quick departure of McClaren the FA acted in haste and got Capello too quickly. They should have looked harder around the world stage to find a better choice and at least one whose English is fluent. I would not fancy having to have an argument with one of the English prima donnas in broken Italian.
