Newsflash: Chambers Dropped!!!

Castleford
comment on the article

Apparently Dwayne was joy to work with, his professionalism etc.....blah blah blah!
He has been dropped in unfortunate circumstances apparently.

But the real reason, Dwayne just wasnt Good enough and probably couldnt get over the few tackles he recieved. There wasnt one true Rugby fan who thought he'd succeed!
Could you imagine if he'd of played in a Super League match? He'd get absolutely murdered, it's a great decision by Castleford because it saved him from utter embarrassment.

Good luck to lad in what ever he does because he has acted with dignity throughout.

ronaldoforthewin you sound quite pompous!

I don't think that Dwain deserves any more respect for playing rugby, but I admit that he is obviously a nice bloke to be around.

Things we've learned from this.

1. It's obvious Dwain is prepared to try anything to utilise his physical talent outside of track and field, and this isn't the Dwain Chambers who cheated his way to undeserved partial athletics glory. Well it is, but he seems a better character now.
2. Rugby league is more than just a game of catch-and-run, it takes skill which can't be picked up in no time at all.
3. High-level practioners in one sport may or may not be able to pick up another as well or better, but it's often worth trying. Rebecca Romero is an example of a transition that worked beautifully, and it was probably because it was at a younger age and cycling's skill demands are less diverse.

Around the time Dwain started this trial, someone here suggested that RL clubs should look at young track athletes and consider getting them into the game then. I think that's a really good idea. Naturally talented athletes should be given opportunities to make the most of those talents wherever that may be. Obviously some will enjoy certain sports more than others, but many sports aren't even on the radar to many, and RL generally isn't on the radar south of Manchester.

ShinyDavidHowell, you show a level of intellect rarely seen on these pages! I could not agree with your sentiments more.

Whilst Chambers is a cheat, I admire his determination to repay the thousands he owes the world of athletics for falsely aquired earnings. He could simply sit back and not repay his debt but he has chosen to actively seek alternative employment.

In addition, we should remember that our great sport cannot claim to be free of drugs. Let the sport without sin cast the first stone and all that...

There's a lot of comments on here saying that Chambers didn't have the skill for RL. Who involved in Cas said that? No-one. They said that DC didn't have the stamina. For the last time, playing wing in RL isn't rocket science.

Unlucky DC, good luck with your next move.

BlakBruker: You can work on Stamina and if you think that was the reason he was dropped you are silly. If he was good enough they would have waited for him because his pace is a Weapon.
But he obviously wasnt worth the time and investment!ok

The real truth about Dwayne Chambers is that he is looking to return to fitness for the Olympic games. He is not bothered in the slightest how he does this or who helps him to do so, whether it be American Football, Athletics or Rugby League. Best thing that could happen right now is for Castleford to see the light and dump him, as, thankfully, they have. I have no doubts that Chambers will make it known that his somewhat dubious services are avaiable again, looking again for someone with more money than sense. There are plenty of them out there, you only have to look at all the silly money splashed about in football. I would like people to know that I have no particular grudge against Dwayne Chambers, unfortunately I just believe him to be a user and this is certainly not a black thing!

I expect King to go upfront with Folan on Saturday. With another striker coming in next week and I suggest that will be Frazer Cambell
