Oh Well!!!

Championship Ipswich Town
comment on the article

Oh well boys, another dissapointment but at least we won today and gave ourselves the best possible chance.
Now its time for Jim to bring in the quality required, get rid of those that need getting rid of and get the team winning away and at home from the start of the season.
Absolutely gutted coz as said before we missed golden opportunities, QPR,Plym,Cardiff all at home, 2 nil up away to Norwich and Burnley. Ten points dropped there, let alone the dire result against Col U!!!!
De Vos is off
Legwinski is off
Wilniss is off
Simpson is off
Williams is off
possibly Garvan too will be off. This is on top of those that Jim will offload. Big changes will happen during the summer despite what some of you say. Lets hope they are good changes and we have something really exciting to look forward too.
Bring on Jordan next season, could be massive for him!!!!!

Well can't say I'm too dissapointed to be honest. Another season in the Championship will allow Jim to strengthen gradually without the wholesale changes a promotion will have enforced. Lets be honest, we're nowhere near a Premiership outfit-we can't win at Layer Road for gods sake, trips to Old Trafford and the Emirates would be a frightening prospect even with strengthening in the summer. I think we're only two or three quality players short from a squad which can mount a serious challenge next time. With Marcusmoney we can now bring in a decent centre-half (one more season for De Vos though hopefully) and a proven striker that can bag 20+ goals because despite the goal today Lee isn't the answer. Midfield looks OK as long as Norris is as good as Jim obviously thinks and we can stop those clubs sniffing around Garvan. So lets not be too disheartened. We can go up as champions next season, full of confidence and not quaking in our boots "a la Derby County" at every away trip!

De vos has confirmed his retirement so no "one more season" unfortunately. two centrehalves needed then. hopefuly one pacey! Turner from hull and Ward from coventry would be top signings, i think.

Spanish, where did you get your info about williams leaving? not saying i want him to stay, just hadnt seen anything confirming hes gone! Garvan is a must keep, if we want to go up next year he needs to be in a town shirt!

I think its good that we have another season in the championship as the players Jim will bring in can gel and we can push next year.
Plus Jim will be another year more experienced and that is a must as he has made a few tactical mistakes this year that have proved costly (playing and keeping with 1 upfront away from home till xmas when he changed it and hey ho we got a win).

Anyway,we need to fill portman road next year and I would ask all those that came today and the norwich game to attend each week at home next year as it makes a huge difference.

Please lets not just turn up to big games and forget the other games.that not what supporting a team is about,I better stop moaning or I will get told off by saxo or stratton for being negative.

Well done to the players support and Jim.

Yeah, i agree lincoln, Garvan had shown us quality today, and he'll be key for us next season. He's only something like 19 or 20!

Also, if he was to go to the Premiership, he ouldnt be played unless someone was seriously injured, so he's best to stay with us until the 09/10 season, when we WILL be in the Premiership!

Players we SHOULD get rid of are:

Harding
Lee
Bywater (don't keep him permenantly)
Colgan
Roberts
Williams
Naylor
Others who i cant think of at the moment (help needed here!)

We need:
3 centre backs (an extra one)
2 Strikers
1 Goalie
1 Left back

Agree/Disagree?

Watford fan here, genuinely sorry you didn't make the play offs. Was at todays game at P R as couldn't get a ticket for Blackpool, and thought it was a good, honest match with a great atmosphere.
Thought your defence looked more solid than when you played us and seemed to have more bite to their tackling. I suspect we'll see you next season as I have no great expectations for the play offs, but think you'll have a good one next time round as you've certainly got the basics in place now.

It's very, very early days, but Ipswich are my preliminary tip for automatic promotion next season.

The quality of our football today was very good.
As everybody says our away form must improve next season.
Overall-no disgrace.

Spanish, once again your predictions have proved miles off track, do you think you will "stuff" everyone? Are you Alan Shearer? He's c88p at predictions as well. Well we are still in the same league, oh another of your predictions f88ked up. Ho Ho Ho.

I would not be suprised if Jim goes for Mcauley due to Leiscter getting relegated and his efforts in Jan.

Possibly get Lisbie from col u because he got 17 goals this year with crap service from a useless col u midfield so with the service our strickers get and the amount of oppertunities they get he could have 25 goals
