Boruc- Too Boring Now

Scottish Premier Celtic

comment on the article

I think enough nonsense has been spoken about a tee-shirt for three days now. Anyone else finding it totally tedious? Even if Boruc was at the wind up so what? Anyone who feels offended by a God bless tee-shirt is a complete idiot. Not one of my Rangers mates are offended, why should they be? They think that Artur is a clown for trying to wind them up but they are not "offended" as the Scottish sports press would have you believe. Then again they write in such a way to incite the stupid section of their readership anyway on just about any topic. Lazy incompetent scribblers the lot of them

What he did was inflammatory in the context of an old firm fixture - the fact that there were only six arrests or that people are stupid to get wound up about it is a moot point - it is potentially inflammatory, certainly controversial and he wore the shirt in the knowledge of both. This is why it (the story) will not die. Why the need to bring a pope, now dead three years, into it? The guy's a mor0n, Strachan's a mor0n for his usual, flippant, ignorant retort, the celtic fans who defend boruc are morons and the rangers fans who get genuinely agitated by such things are also brain-dead. THe guy needs to be disciplined - he is in a very responsible position.

does he reveal this t shirt after every match? Why did he choose to pick this particular match? After all the man has been dead for 3 years, surely a commemoration would have been more appropriate around the time of his demise. FIFA issued a rulling at the start of the season banning all undershirts with political, religous or personal messages. The responsibility being passed to the particular competition's ruling body, FIFA will no doubt watch with interest at proceeding, i imagine the worst that will happen is aslap on the wrists and told that it is against the rules to do this and not to do it again. Then it should be forgotten about

Im not offended by anything Boruc has on his t-shirt, I am just offended by Boruc who is at best a wannabe "wind up merchant" and an over-rated keeper.

Just wait till the end of the season when he comes out with "I always wanted to play for Bolton (or insert another club here)

Scottish football is mad enough without this type of idiot fuelling the fire of the hard of thinking.

I don't know a single Rangers fan who was offended by the t-shirt that Boruc wore. Pope JP II was a well respected man (outside of his own church) for his work in helping the less fortunate people of the world. He also had a reputation for bringing people together.
Boruc has chosen to drag this good mans memory into the vile cauldron of an Old Firm match and should be ashamed of himself. The aim of the t-shirt was to cause trouble and he should therefore be censured for his stupidity and warned that a repeat will bring a harsher punishment.
If he gets away scot free then some other numpty will do something similar and eventually we will have a riot at a game.
what a way to remember a great man, eh?

Personally the t-shirt doesn't bother me itself, it's more the can of worms it opens. FIFA rules ban religious slogans and so on, and if it's ok for a player to say 'God Bless The Pope', then by all rights they can't really stop people airing...less than pleasant views about him. That and would a muslim player be allowed to air a shirt praising Allah in the current climate?

At the end of the day though, I've said it before and I'll say it again, Boruc's antics are really as much pathetic pandering to Celtic supporters to divert from his failings as they are an attempt to wind up Rangers fans.

To the guy who is a practising catholic but also a rangers supporter-

Yeah you're right really strange for a catholic to support a club whose ethos up to a few years ago was never to even sign a catholic player. And to support a club whose entire travelling fanbase (with the exception of the few who dont sing about killing fenians-they are all on this blog of course), and who take offence at the head of your religion worn on a tshirt, by bleating on about it this discussion!
Bizarre to say the least. You're obviously into the turning the other cheek every week of your life, when going to support your team with your Orange friends.

Further to the catholic rangers supporter, find a reference to your beloved friends and supporters ((And we’re not talking about “a minority” there, are we? That’s all of them unless I’m mistaken.)
indulging in their latest piece of religious racist imagery - but no doubt you are proud of that too!

Yes. You are mistaken, much as I would be if I implied that all Celtic supporters are wannabe Irish terrorists.

We have all of the social/moral melting pot within the support of Celtic and Rangers.

Some make us proud, others make us ashamed but one thing is true: neither club has a support composed solely of angels.

Anyone who thinks otherwise is way out of touch with reality.

Took you a while to come up with that one, so I'll enlighten you further ( because I'm a little older and obviously wiser ), he was censured by the SFA and "reportedly" dealt with behind closed doors.

In effect, no punishment, unless you can prove me wrong ?
