Nadal could win 7 RG titles in a rowFrench Open by Horsey6 (U11760532) 30 April 2008 Unless Nadal burns out I can see him winning RG for 6 or 7 years straight. Where is his competition gonna come from? Federer has thrown the kitchen sink at him and it comes back with interest. I don't think Djokovic would fancy a 5 hour slugfest with the great man so who else can stop this turning into a one man show for the next few years. I believe he is getting better on the surface. I am a Fed fan but I appreciate how good Nadal is and accept that Federer may never win the French while Nadal is around. Thoughts? Latest 10 commentsRead members' comments or add your own

Vamos Rafa! (U11485842) posted May 3, 2008 You seem to be forgetting, Nadal is 5 years, younger than Federer. How many GS did Federer have at 21 years of age? Would that be zero? (Not meant to criticize the guy, only meant to show that Nadal is light years ahead of Federer.)

FedCyclops (U10581359) posted May 4, 2008 What worries me about Rafa-and yes I do believe he can equal/better the great Bjorn's record at FO-is the potential for injury. He has a habit of fading after W & I think it is more than just the switch to HC's. If he continues with his current schedule-more T's/playing doubles/no breaks-he could pick up a long term injury. He plays more of a power game than others: it works supremely on clay, he is still learning on HC & is still young.

Federfan (U8403236) posted May 4, 2008 I am one of those worthless Federfans referred to by RafaelNadal1. I would never refer to him/her as worthless just because he supports a lesser player - to each his own. There is no doubt that the fire burns brightly in Rafa but sport should be about more than just winning titles. I think Rafa is quite sporting but his annoying mannerisms drive me crazy and those have to stop. Roger Federer has won more and done more with such grace and style and, even were Rafa to overtake him in both GS and MS stakes he will never win the accolades of his sporting contemporaries so often and sadly never win with such style. Roger is the best - long may he reign.

gerryjames (U12822189) posted Aug 1, 2008 Maybe so 7xRG but I'll wait&see, I have my reservations & doubts, for me jury still out on Nadal's staying power/longevity! Now that he's brand new presumptive No1 ATP as of Cincinatti/Aug 1st after some RG wins and barely winning Wimbledon'08 he's already become the all-time expert authority critic on ATP Circuit & all tourneys that have to be played on hardcourts. He volubly complaining that hardcourts are causing too many injuries and doesn't like ATP Tour's Circuit cuz of it! So already we have new No1 whinging & bitching. Maybe its more out of pure self interest his complaints. Afterall his style of play with huge coiled wristy windmill windups tops/slice/junk shots and behind baseline retriever defense/offense games are granted brutal on the body - he anit going to last folks! Look at the Sampras's, Agassiz's & Federer's of the world that have cleaner more efficient stroke production and economical court movement - they've all reigned atop the game as survivors for longtime and never once bitched, whinged and complained about the hardcourt season or surfaces which are vastly superior for maintenance, flaws/imperfections, surface texture grit control of ball velocity moving thru court, wear & tear durign tourney play etc... All you Rafa-Mania Idol Groupies are going to be sorely disappointed, Nadal wont go full distance like his predecessors, his reign as No1 will be shortlived cosmic flicker. And to those prematurely judgmentally writing-off Federer, ROGER's GOING TO REBOUND from his recent funk, watchout for RF in Beijing and US Open! LOL Gerry
