Browse: Tennis More excuses from Murray !by Tiger Tim (U9778174) 30 April 2008 He said he was 'flat' and did'nt think it was a very important competition. Murray needs to get his act together and quick, if he can't beat Ancic in a minor comp how will he do in a big event with a full field ? Answers on a postcard. blue-eyedAgnetha (U11805811) posted May 2, 2008 So do you think Murray the Mouth will be supported well by the Wimbledon crowd who were so loyal to Tim Henam over the last decade? I personally think that only Scots will come down with their Scottish flags and Murray will not be liked very much at all by the English part of the crowd. The fact that he pulled out of the Davis cup didn`t help his reputation. And can anyone tell me, how such a young healthy man, earning millions doing a sport he loves always sounds so depressed and gloomy when interviewed?

Angry Bourbon (U7774523) posted May 2, 2008 If he makes the semis at Wimbledon the crowd will happily mob his opponent and tear his limbs off if Cliff Richard gives the signal. Anyone who believes otherwise is deluding themselves. Oh how I look forward to the joys of seeing double-faults applauded, shouts from the crowd during the opponent's ball toss, and cheers every time he nets a volley on breakpoint.

Jollyoldtennis (U7545723) posted May 2, 2008 Of course the public will support Murray if he gets to the semi finals at Wimbledon. We'll have giggling Sue asking him the old chestnut how it feels to be in the semi final at Wimbledon, we'll have the old dears with their paper hats saying "Go Andy Go" exhibiting passion on the only occasion in their year, we'll have little cameos showing Andy gurning, slipping over, patting a ball girl on the head. Come on we'll all get caught up in it, we'll see the mute celebrities posing in their enclosure for the cameras, we'll even have jokes made about Andy's surliness and his hangdog manner. If a Brit gets to the semi final at Wimbledon, he could look like Quasimodo, go ballistic if the English football team is mentioned, and have a mouth like a sewer. All would be forgiven just to see our success starved tennis nation achieve a modicum of success.

I'd like to think I'd never cheer a double though, not in the live audience at least
