I don't see how some people can sit there and say that beautiful football is bad. Sure parking the bus is more effective, but simply saying beautiful football is not a great thing to watch is basically revealing you don't support the game as a whole, you just want 11 people to somehow justify your minority complex.

Parking the bus is not effective if you don't have a good team.
But ultimately you have to score goals and, if you do it playing football that is pleasant to watch, good.
I don't know what is your team, but I am sure you would like to win the Premier League no matter what and, in 5 years, you would not be taking about the beautiful football.
Discipline is also needed at high level and yesterday only Henry and Deco looked like scoring. Probably because they are mature and they know that horizontal passing doesn't lead you anywhere.

I don't necessarily support one team, hence I prefer to see attractive football. The only reason Barca played horizontally is because there were 11 United players behind the ball. Give Barca space and you have a problem. The thing that bothers me is that if Blackburn play like United did yesterday it's called cowardice and Italian, but if United do it it's called discipline. All in all, I fear for the finals' entertainment level.

The fact that Barcelona scored 0 goals in the last 4 games tells you a lot about entertainment.
The thing is that with Deco and Ronaldinho, they always had the risky pass that could open the defences, but fails in 80% of the cases.

I thought united were really rather poor last night but it's the goals that count and on that basis, they deserved to go through. I do worry that if Chelsea progress it will be a very poor final.

I also fear that last night will be talked about as a "classic night" merely because united qualified for the final. Barcelona were far superior. Ronaldo proved once again he can't really perform on the big stage and that Messi is much more of a big game player. He was immense last night.

ah well, best of luck to Liverpool tonight, I hope they go on to lift the trophy.

how good was messi?

unfortunately his teammates were not up to his standard. He completely overshadowed ronaldo. he was the best player in nou camp and again today he was the best with tevez coming close.

i thought over the 2 legs barca deserved to progress, but this is football you dont always get what you deserve.

one mistake made the difference, but anyway well done man u

The only diver if Man and Chelsea met will be Drogs, Manchester has no divers, if we ever had one he has grown up, i hope we meet Liverpool, Chelsea shoving football is so tasteless.

messi4arsenal - agree. For some reason Eto'o was really poor, his touch was horrible. Barcelona need 1 or 2 more players whose touch and movement are near Messi's.
If only Barca had Utd's back 4...

i do agree with you. people have got this negative feeling about ronaldo. why can't they see the things he does even if he does not show his tricks? if he wasn't all that dangerous they would not have made sure that there are two or three people around him. i think united did not consider messi all that a big threat that is why he was left more or less alone. at the end of the day, in football it's goals that count, not running ability or how many small passes you can make.
