Day nine at The Crucible

World Championship
comment on the article

Hello snooker fans,

They've had the morning off at The Crucible, but it's all systems go at 1400 BST when we have two brand new second-round games to get our teeth into:

* Joe Swail v Liang Wenbo
* Stuart Bingham v Joe Perry

All very nice indeed, but the box office stuff is tonight, to be fair.

We've got:

* Ronnie O'Sullivan v Mark Williams
* Neil Robertson v Stephen Maguire

Can Ronnie and Mark Williams keep up the high standard they've set so far? And can 'On-Fire' Maguire keep his astonishing form going? Surely a player as good as Neil Robertson can't be whitewashed?

Let me know your thoughts on predictions for today's Crucible action - and remember you can follow every shot on the BBC Sport website's live video coverage.

Good break by Bingham - surely we won't see him in the last eight?

"It's not just me and John Higgins having a problem with it and it's not just because we lost. It will look like sour grapes but it's not and it will cost other players."

"I'm amazed at how many players have moaned about the speed of the tables.

"I don't know if they are making excuses but adjusting to different conditions is as much of a skill as screwing the white back 10 feet, and this situation just highlights the players who can adapt."

What a difference a year or two makes, eh?

Well done Bingham, although I still think Perry will win the match.

I do not rate Wenbo at all, hes just another over aggressive mindless potter who wouldn't dream of playing safety. Yes he's in form now but on the whole his career will be meaningless. Just the same as the likes of Selby. If a decent snooker player who actually played strategically came through they would dominate, even Ronnie couldnt handle them. Joe Swail is a disgrace and Higgins has proved he has the integrity of a pig, no drive and no sportsmenship. Snooker is at its worse level in decades and its because half of them should be playing pool

I was wondering if the players actually practice on the match table when the arena is vacated or do they use the practice tables installed at the venue.

sdavis,

what you talking about players careers being meaningless??

Anyway, Selbys been hailed as the great tactician who has the all round game to disrupt the potting machines of this era.

I take it you admire Ebdon then?

Good start for Williams in this session. Is Ronnie going to have a session shocker?

Andy Fordham is watching his mate Williams - he's fairly distinctive isn't he?

Maguire and Robertson are playing a pretty long frame. I can't call the ninth.
