Galaxy-man (U11717342) posted May 15, 2008 Hatton is kidding himself.Even if he does beat this guy ..the only way he can redeem himself is unify the division and fight witter. I dont care what anyone says Witter vs Hatton will sell.

NoelsNeck (U10162386) posted May 16, 2008 Hatton has always said that he wants to bow out in the next couple of years so he is looking to (a) make himself financially sound for the rest of his life and (b) try to create a legacy as one of the greats, in that order. He will fight in the States because his paymasters will demand it of him, he can clean up Malignaggi who has done nothing so far in his career and maybe fight one more Bradley perhaps before trying again at Mayweather in a career finale fight it's win win for Hatton if he wins he has his legacy if he doesn't he still has his payday. He should not step up a weight to fight Cotto he can't beat him, he is too small, Cotto may not be as good a boxer as Mayweather but he is capable of inflicting a lot more damage. Cotto-Mayweather is the fight we all want to see, we could be waiting a while.

NoelsNeck (U10162386) posted May 16, 2008 I doubt Mayweather gives a damn about fairness he is the welterweight king and the p4p king he isn't going to make concessions for anyone.

robzaba (U2159929) posted May 16, 2008 Lordatomic doesn't understand the weight game. Fighters get heavier and move up, they don't generally go down, unless they are on the cusp naturally, Mayweather will stay at his weight, Hatton will have to move up again to fight him, and it might well be FMJ vs Gatti again. But Hatton... if he goes down again, will go down in flames, and there's no shame in that.

kimota (U4691069) posted May 19, 2008 Mayweather could easily make light welter, he has to bulk up to fight at welterweight. He is a natural light welter who's skills allow him to operate in a higher weight class. Comment on this article
