It's up for grabs now

Premier League

Two games to go, level on points. Where's your money?

When the dust settles on that extraordinary finish at Stamford Bridge, the majority of the folding stuff will still be on Manchester United.

Chelsea fans, I'm not decrying the strength of character, the cussedness, shown in the 2-1 win on Saturday lunchtime.

All I'm saying is, given the chance, would you rather be in United's position or yours?

United have West Ham at home and Wigan away. Chelsea have to go to Newcastle and then take Bolton on at home.

On the basis of those games alone, the level-headed neutral would say United must remain title favourites.

Neither West Ham nor Wigan have anything to play for. The Hammers have drifted along in near-neutral all season, while Steve Bruce's side are nobody's idea of a nightmare.

Newcastle, however, are enjoying a late-season flowering under Kevin Keegan. Bolton are fighting for their Premier League future.

Then, of course, there's the matter of goal difference. Only in a cheese-fed Fergie nightmare would United throw away an advantage of 16 goals in two matches.

In other words, the title is United's to lose. Should they take maximum points from two games they'll very much fancy, the 1970 Brazil team couldn't catch them.

What could make the difference, depending on what happens in the Champions League this week, is momentum.

United shouldn't wobble - they've been here before. But if Barca spring a surprise on Tuesday night, a season that promised so much will suddenly threaten to leave them empty-handed.

And should Chelsea edge past Liverpool, their dander will be up - dressing-room rifts or no dressing-room rifts.

And as for the great unpredictable, luck - which way do you think that's going when Andriy Shevchenko pops up on his own goal-line in stoppage time to clear away a certain goal?

they dont need to mark ronaldo. hes always non-existent in the big games anyway. rooneys the man, and if im not mistaken, your record without rooney is terrible.
as for the title, lthough all logic points to a united retention, i can honestly see chelsea winning it. they've grinded out wins all season, and should get 6 point. but united have got west ham, probably their biggest bogey team, and wigan who grabbed a draw at the bridge. the momentums with chelsea and i hope they'll snatch it at the death.

others should respect the character the team has shown after losing their manager and coming back from their internal crisis...to fight and win pl and even if they lose it, they will do so only by goal difference.. CL is for CfC
