STRIKERS FOR SUNDAYScottish Premier Celtic by U11680882 - banned alt uids (U11680882) 25 April 2008 Who do we want to see start on sunday. I personally think that macdonald is getting to greedy and rather than providing a pass will go for goal himself, i dont particularly like his attitude either. i would like to see jvh and samaras starting and riordan on the bench but unfortunately thats not going to happen. would also like to see brown dropped as well Latest 10 commentsRead members' comments or add your own

He is just a poacher and is not a footballer. We need Samaras energy and movement to stand any chance of breaking down the 11 man Rangers defence.

Floridadweller (U6991922) posted Apr 26, 2008 I'm still reeling from the person who wrote that McDonald shouldn't play because he's " a poacher, rather than a footballer." What a load of codswallop. That's like the folk who said Riordan, a natural goalscorer, didn't "track back" enough and that's why he was benched. Celtic need goals, folks, goals !! That's one of their main problems. You can't sit out the only guy who's scored consistently; that is, McDonald. Bad enough that Riordan won't wear a Celtic shirt again, but for pete's sake, you can't bench your top goalscorer in a team that struggles to score. This Rangers team, whatever you say about them, is very stingy about giving up goals--ask their UEFA opponents. Celtic will have a job putting the ball in the net again, barring some sort of 'event', like a miracle shot from Nakamura or a header from a defender. They need McDonald whether you like his attitude or not. He can score from a scramble and make something of the slightest chance.
