Klitschko v Haye

comment on the article

The BBC report that this fight is being discussed for this year, what do you guys think? Too soon?
Personally i would like to see Haye have two or three fights against heavyweight contenders before going up against the best in the division. What happened to the mooted fight against Rahman, i think that would be a good test for his first outing.

Klitchsko is a bigger man than Haye but I don't think he has any significant reach advantage over Haye if any at all. Klitchsko has mostly fought small heavyweights recently. Guys hovering around the six foot mark. Haye even before you talk about skills and speed although smaller should be able to reach him.
It's a little condescending to suggest that those watching Wlad fight recently were unhappy beacuse they are used to seeing more action in the UFC. Anybody who cares about boxing who saw those fights must realise that they were awful. Whatever anybody thinks boxing is the fight business and it is important to put on some kind of a show. Otherwise people will lose interest.
Wlad will not be the recognised champion for much longer. When he comes across someone who can compete with his size and reach him he will come unstuck because he does not have the heart for it. There were times even against Ibragimov when he looked terrified when Ibragimov was throwing some wild shots.

Is it me or is Haye not very likeable. I have no doubt the man has talent but theres something that makes me wanna see him hit the canvas and not get up. Dont no what it is but i just dont want him to achieve in the hw divison. Sorry.

The fight will never happen, VK will have his mandantory defences this year, have several others lined up for early next year and use these as an excuse to not fight Haye. He'll win all those against faceless opponents and then retire banging on about his legacy being cemented. No way would he step into a ring with Haye and risk everything against someone who could destroy him several rounds.

I agree with others who have commented here.

Haye should give up his current belts and have a few fights at heavyweight to establish himself.

To go straight in agains VK could damage his career. He needs to get used to the extra weight and the extra power of a heavy.

once he has established himself he could win at least one of the belts.

Greatestrowerever has got it about right.
Klitchko is maybe the best out of the poorest bunch of heavyweights in the history of the glove ere so far.
Whenever I think of him, I remember the night he got knocked all over the shop by Corrie Saunders.
Every boxer has two fists and therefore anything can happen in boxing. Hayes hits awfully hard and therefore when the two do meet, if ever, Klitsthko had better guard his chinny winny, win, very well.
Having said that Hayes also has a questionable chin and therefore before he thinks of going in to the ring with the world champion he should have two or three contests against better quality opponents then the last heavy weight he fought. If he does well there, then maybe he should challenge for the world title.
If he goes into the ring against the world champion straight away, I don't make him the favorite by any means, although I hope he pulls off an upset and wins.
He should stay home for a while, and make some easy money wiping out the current crop of corpses currently disgracing the heavy weight scene in the U.K. to day.

Hayes is a great fighter and I truely believe he is the next big thing in Boxing. VK doesn't stand a chance as he isn't a good fighter. There is no really talent except Hayes in that weight not like the old days. Hayes will walk his way though that weight.

VK will just keep avoiding him so Hayes will have to try and take on Chagaev instead. When he destroys him there is no excuse for VK as he would have proven himself.

Good luck to Hayes anyway... Maybe Lewis will come out of retirement and give Hayes a fight....

It's not Hayes! And VK doesn't stand a chance? Don't be silly.

Just to be even more pedantic about it the guy’s initials are WK (as in WLADIMIR) and not VK which would be his brother Vitali.

And as for the suggestions that A) Wlad wouldn’t stand a chance against Haye & B) Lennox should come out of retirement to face him? Ridiculous statements even for this board as of late. Honestly, these footy fans should just stick to what they’re good at - or at least what they think they’re good at...

I believe in Ukranian it is actually Vladimir rather than Wlad - they just change it in Englgish so we don`t screw up the pronounciation.

Anyway - I think he is going to end up injured and retiring in the none too distant future, so if Haye wants him it has to be sooner rather than later.
