*** CHELSEA 3-2 LIVERPOOL (4-3) - AET ***

Chelsea Liverpool
comment on the article

THIS IS THE THREAD to discuss CHELSEA V LIVERPOOL (1-1) in the UEFA Champions League second leg at Stamford Bridge.

Team News:
Chelsea: Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard looks set to return for Wednesday's Champions League semi-final, second leg.

The England star, who played in the 1-1 draw at Anfield, missed Saturday's win over Manchester United following the death of his mother Pat from pneumonia.

Liverpool: Liverpool full-back John Arne Riise, who scored an injury-time own goal as a substitute in the first leg, could replace the injured Fabio Aurelio.

The Brazilian defender has been ruled out because of a groin problem.

Manager Rafa Benitez could also recall Sami Hyypia to centre-back, move Jamie Carragher to the right and switch Alvaro Arbeloa to the left.

Another possibility could see Steve Finnan play in either full-back spot.

Benitez is also set to start with striker Fernando Torres after the Spaniard was rested for Saturday's draw with Birmingham, while Peter Crouch could come in up front in preference to Ryan Babel.

Chelsea will be rearing to go after their 2-1 victory over Man. United on Saturday in the Premier League, which keeps Chelsea tight on Man. United, going into the last two games of the season.

Liverpool however, made nine changes on Saturday, after their 2-2 draw at St. Andrews against Birmingham City.

Both teams will be looking to meet either Barcelona or Man. United in Moscow on Wednesday 21 May, to battle it out for Europe's biggest club competition prize.

Net result is, Rafa has to stop being so conservative...this game was there for us..I think we'll all agree we've been quite poor in most areas, Gerrard we needed a big game & unfortunately we didn't get it, but why not put the extra forward on? We caused them enough trouble whilst playing only an average game with only Torres up, with Crouch or Babel up front as well.....well who knows.

Good for your win chelsea, don't know if I care who wins the final...guess it'll depend on who wins the league.

I'm off for some beer....lots & lots
