Riise must bounce back, play at the Bridge

He has to play well at the bridge and wouldnt it be great if he could score as well? As long as he plays well and Torres 1-0 would be great.

Riise, who has scored TWO crackers against Chelsea so far in his career vows to come back stronger. I hope he does. Liverpool need to defend superb next week and let Babel, Torres or Gerrard fire us to Moscow.

John Arne Riise, ooh, ahh!

In reply to 'Mont23' and his total head up your jacksy comments.
I was pointing out that todays footballers are not that good, especially those that can only use one foot !
I think that Riise is the best left back for Liverpool and think that Benitez has under used him this season, just like Crouch.
It still does not detract from the facts that Riise, like lots more Pros. should spend All day using their weakest foot. And you need to be prepared to take some constructive criticism toward improving your teams skills.

Poor Riise hasn't played a lot this season, only Benitez and Riise know why, perhaps he lacks form? But then you only gain form by playing and I hope he plays to prove his worth.

I like the way Riise plays, I hope he comes back stronger than ever. What a left foot!

Just arrived, its all done, can't still believe the decision to head it rather than wrap a foot around it and send it up to the back row of the stands. All we can do is get behind the manager and team, hope they take the chances we know there will be and take it to the bridge..

One own goal doesn't make Riise a bad player, but it is a glaring example of his inability to defend in such situations.

I'm still in a bit of shock at how the OG was scored. Why head it at all? Guess he wasn't aware that he had a bit of time and space to properly get rid of the ball. Ah well, what's done is done. erm

Too bad about Aurelio's injury - he was beginning to put a stamp on his place at the back.

Riise MUST come back to rebuild his confidence. I hope he plays against Birmingham tomorrow. His lack of playing time has no doubt contributed to his lack of confidence, which has contributed to his lack of playing time...a vicious circle.

Maybe he can redeem himself as Dirk Kuyt has managed to do of late. Only trouble is, he has to do it quickly if we are going to make a go of it against Chelsea. Riise is a good professional, so I've no doubt he can do it if he puts his mind to it. Best of luck to him anyway, and I hope this doesn't become one of those "career defining moments" forever replayed and rehashed on the internet!

'His lack of playing time has contributed to his lack of confidence...which has resulted in his lack of playing time.'
-----------------------------------------------

His lack of playing time is due to the fact that he isn't good enough and hasn't been for some time now. As for playing him 'to help get his confidence back' - what? Liverpool should play the team that will give them the best chance of winning the semi - sod sentiment.
