JamesAutar (U9540103) posted Apr 24, 2008 It looked to me that several United players 'froze' on the night and were over-awed by the occasion. There was no inter-change bewteen Ronaldo, Tevez and Rooney (who was particularly static) like you see when they play in the Premiership. It was like they were in awe of Barcelona and felt that they could not express themselves in this setting.

The Binocular (U11052880) posted Apr 24, 2008 Ronaldo is 23 years old and Rooney is 22 years old, it is totally excusable for them to have a bad game on a big stage, Ronaldo has already come out and said he will score at old trafford, he was smiling with eto'o just before the second half kicked off, this won't affect him at all. This poor performance from the pair has just set the stage for a tremendous night in Manchester, it is the reason they are paid so much, it is the reason we love football.

marvellousdanjay (U11627114) posted Apr 24, 2008 i see this tie as similar to the man u/madrid meeting of the y2k season, which has kept man u scared of madrid to this day. after a soreless draw at the bernabeu, man u fans said;'they outplayed us, so what, did they score?' at old traford, they were well beaten. whether man u like it or not, barca were far better on the night. man u will only try to contain barca because if they try to attack, they will give barca more space to hit them. look at the little space barca had but they tormented man u's defence. i don't see man u doing any better at old traford. they now have more to fear and worry about.

jamesmufc2008 (U11752858) posted Apr 24, 2008 I'm a dedicated united fan but not one for being oblivious to the reality. Last night was shocking, we suffered the true experience that is the Nou Camp and I felt from the biggest club in the world's perspective we were poor. I'm tired of commentators and people in the football media constantly telling us how well we play when we don't! Last night sky sports commentator said this was a 'near perfect performance'. I'm sorry? A near perfect performance? We have the best squad in the world at the moment and we should be playing better. As much as I want to see us outplaying chelsea i have my reservations. Haven't you all seen the sign at the bridge, it says "NO GOOD FOOTBALL ALLOWED!"
