D-Day for Murray

Masters Series

Ladies and Gentlemen,

We are advised that Andy Murray has left his pom-poms, Serbian flag and Davis Cup attire at Flushing Meadows which is excellent news for Thursday’s clash with Novak Djokovic.

It is obvious to me and other knowledgeable members of the board that this is ‘D-Day’ for the wily Scot. Gone are the injury and fitness excuses as he prepares for a match with somebody I consider to be not only better in tennis terms but far superior in mental strength.

On Thursday, there can be no defence made by any man or woman as this is Djokovic’s weakest surface and also where he is least experienced. This is the perfect opportunity for Murray to dispose of the ‘he’s really talented’ tag and turn into something real i.e. proven ability at the highest level.

There is no excuse for consistent failure at the top events - Murray must beat Djokovic tomorrow or face tennis obscurity.

My comment about AM being a stuck up little Scot was based on his inability to get on with partners in doubles, trainers and coaches, of which he has had plenty and his general dislike of the English. It was not a racially motivated comment and should not be seen as such in any way. He has lamblasted the English football team but expects us to rename Henman Hill to Murray Mound at Wimbledon. Never may that happen!! He continually shouts abusive language when losing matches which is completely disrespectful to parents of young child in the audience. And if you try to complain about his language no-one wants to know. I openly encourage tolerance of all nationals skin colours creeds and languages. What a shame that the people that moderated my previous comment dont see it for the facual comment it was.

Couldn't have happened to a more deserving person. Maybe Cristiano Ronaldo, but he suffered his humiliation last nite. Great couple of days for sport!

"Andy murray will win this, i bet my life savings on it"

Erm.......LOL

The person who posted this would lose everything then, because Novak Djokovic "owns" Andy Murray on a Tennis Court, so, and every result, apart from their first meeting, has never been even close, and this was another comprehensive beating. Murray psychologically is weaker than Djokovic, another reason why Djokovic wins this comfortably is because anything Murray can do, Djokovic can just do better, no matter what Murray has - mental, physical, confidence, Djokovic beats Murray in every department.

No he didn't. He was asked by an English journalist before the 2006 World Cup how he thought Scotland would get on at the finals.

The journalist knew full well that Scotland hadn't qualified, and was transparently setting a giant man-trap for the young Murray to walk into. Sadly Murray did just that and had a go back at England.

Result - sleazy hypocrite journalist has his cheap "En-ger-lund" story for the day, and the myth that Murray hates England is born.

i've never really understood why the would call it 'Murray's mound' - surely 'Mount Murray' or something like that would be far better.

Thinking about it if Murray happened to be an attractive female player, i'd find the names: 'Murray's mound' and 'Mount Murray' quite hilarious.

Re: djoko match he woke up a set too late thats all - needs to work on that but at the end of the day Djoko is best player at the min so no worries.

Yes, anybody stupid enough to continue to cling to the miscontextual "Murray Hates England And Its Football Team!" school of thought is an absolute fool. No matter how many times people who actually watched watched the footage tell you that Murray was wise-cracking to a journalist trying to annoy him, you'll always ignore us because it doesn't tie in with your xenophobic anti-Scottish school of thought.

Grow up, please.
