Not sure if your comment was directed at me or at Liverpool fans as a whole but:
a: I'm not being nasty.

b: I've already said I rate Essien highly as a player and a person.

c: There is no mathematical or scientific formula to prove who is better. It remains opinion and will stay opinion. You are entitled to yours and we Liverpool fans are entitled to ours. Unfortunately you have let yourself down by condemning ALL Liverpool fans. You shouldn't do that in real life mate and you shouldn't do it in football. In actual fact by writing what you have you have shown yourself to be narrow-minded and intolerant. I have no time for people like that, in any walk of life. Up yours mate.

your having a laugh right, how on earth does essien even come close to gerrards standard. Gerrard is and has been the best in his position, comfortably. Although im a huge liverpool fan, i'm happy to admit that without gerrard we'd be lost, that kinda proves how good he is if he's able to have that kind of importance to a top four club, and a club that did very well in the champs league

the idea that essien could be better is a joke!

liverpool fan here, both are probabably the best 2 midfielders in the world and both are really versatile aswell, obviously i believe gerrard is better because he contributes to the team but on current form essien is up there.

Even there, I would disagree....have u seen the amount of goals and assists Gerrard outclasses Essien by? And then the Chelsea fans will come and say its not all about goals and assists lol.

Gerrard is better at club level
Essien is better at International level

Therefore Gerrrard performs better in more games

Give me one other player who has scored in the League cup, FA cup, UEFA cup and CL finals-all of which he has gone on to win with the club...apart from Gerrard of course
