I am not Hendry's biggest fan but he played great to win the match today. He has been the greatest ever snooker player to play the game,he has the record to prove it.

When I was young I played a fair bit of Snooker and was fairly decent I suppose, Hendry was my absolute hero. I used to play at the club he practiced at and also worked at a restaurant he used to frequent and was massively disappointed by how arrogant and unpleasant he was. This was a few years ago so hopefully he has matured from the spoiled little brat he could be. I would still love to see him win the world again but doubt it'll happen.

stj0003 that is why I said I am not his biggest fan give me John Higgins everytime,a true gent. But I'll always give credit to Hendry for what he has done in snooker and he showed his old steel at the end of this match.

ive played in a poker tournament in edinburgh and was at the same table as hendry and he was a nice guy, i never spoke to him as i didnt want to let him know he was my boyhood hero, but he was chatting with other people and having a laugh he has a good sense of humour and was definately not arrogant or unpleasant..

I've met him and he is not arrogant.

Love him or loathe him his record speaks for itself and he is fearless, always willing to take a chance e.g. putting blue close to black.

Whether or not you like Hendry he is still in my opinion the greatest snooker player ever: 7 world titles, 5 consecutively and the youngest player ever to win one. To stay that driven is amazing. He might not have the natural talent of an O'Sullivan, but he still played agressive snooker.

He was my snooker idol growing up but that was because I never really heard of anyone else. It's great to see him showing some steel as well to comeback and win in a decider.

cloutier_is_GOD,

Hah my mate has played poker with him too, up in Dundee, and like yourself he said he was a nice guy.

People say how arrogant Hendry is, yet watch him winning his world titles, beating White so many times and he was very modest and respectful in victory.

Some comeback indeed, although in the penultimate frame Allen should really have finished him off. He had a straightish pink into the centre that he had to force to create an angle to get on the last red. If he'd just made sure of the 6 points and played safe off the last red, he would have won. Hendry was extremely lucky to get another chance.

Well he certainly has the most miserable looking face on the television I have seen for years. His mouth is permantly locked into a pose of "miserable" even lines appearing in this pose.
Its strange to see this from a person who has won over 9 million pounds, and must own half of Scotland. I also see his wife is pregnant, so he has some exciting aspects to his personal life.
As far as the match went, I havent seen Hendry miss so many easy 5-6 footers for a while, although there was some signs of it in the Premier League. It seems the young Allen choked, and no matter how many chances Hendry gave him he always seemed to find a way to hand it back.
Although fortunate to win, the last frame was very clinical, and reminded us all of what this player is capable of. The type of snooker that kept hundreds of players in their chair for many hours, as we wondered whether this machine would ever miss one.

Hendry played fantastic, Allen played fantastic - it was a game that could have went either way with both players missin easy shots (more so Hendry) and giving one another chance after chance to win frames.
Hendry is my all time fav player and always will be, I was on the edge of my seat watchin this match - it was incredibly entertaining and unpredictable. Its unfortunate that he has a tough draw, where he could be playing, Ding, Higgins, O'Sullivan and Williams before reachin the final (I never saw the match with Williams but judgin by his 8-1 advantage he must have reached some of his old form)
Its actually quite difficult to accept that he will probz never win another tournament let alone a world championship, but after watchin the match yesterday i cant help get the feelin he could pull it off this year.
