and I'd also like to add that Pennant turned the tide of the game yesterday. Everyone forgets it took Ronaldo years to settle into top flight football - give the young lads; pennant, babel and leto a chance I say!

I'd take Mancini over Vincente, Joaquin, or Queresma, and I reckon maybe Rafa would too. Just what I know of him he has. better workrate and teamwork than the other 3.

Still rather have Maxi Rodriguez, to make Torres feel at home :D

Aimar would be awesome too though

I fear that the situation is worse than made out with the split of owners, and that Rafa has No money for transfers this season.
I felt this year, after building a strong squad, the next stage would be concentrating on 1 or 2 buys of £20mill players and not buy in a load of team players as the 3 previous seasons.
I am shocked to hear Xabi Alonso being linked with a move away from the club because i believe the key reasons we fell short this year, was due to the injuries of Xabi & Agger for most of the season.
Until Xmas when we brought in Skertl we had to play the back line deeper due to no pace at the back, and I feel we have more control in the centre when Xabi is there, than not.

I Wanted to feel the Wow factor with any new signings this season, but being linked with such as Gareth Barry in and Xabi out, leaves me more in shock and dissapointment, with a firm belief that this is a step backwards not forwards.
If we are selling Xabi to generate cash for buys, well there are plenty of other players that should go first.
Also to keep Voronin & it seems, sell Crouchy backs up my argument, but you will generate cash with Crouchy, but not with Voronin, who so far is a mile of the pace of a LFC player(lets hope he will proves us wrong next season)

This is why i think we have no funds to spend.

For me a player like a fit Theirry Henry who could play in any of the 3 front positions, to enable the rotation of Babel,Kuyt & Torres and to be a known goal scorer would be ideal
This would enable a rotation of the front line, where any of the players, Kuyt, Babel, Torres & (Henry-type)could change positions and cover injuries, and would scare the hell out of any defence.
I would Keep Pennant as a wide option.
Yossi would cover Gerrard
Lucas, Mascha, Xabi & Plessis (& Gerrard) covering midfield
I would keep the back line this season

The last thing we need is to buy in about 8 players all at £5mill, we need to concentrate on 1 or 2 big players - In Rafa We trust.

I think we should sell:
Riise
Voronin
Pennant
Lucas Leiva
and Crouch.

In place we should buy decent players that are both good in Europe and Premiership so:
luka Modric
Gareth Barry
Micha Richards OR
Richard Dunne
and Philip Lahm.

We should just tell Hicks AND GILLET to pack their big fat American bags and heave them back to the US so UIN can come in and give a storng and stable future for LFC.
New stadium, Premiership title and improved youth and training faciltiies.
