From Sky Sports under the title, Thahskin yet to decide on Sven's future!

Shinawatra has insisted that he has no immediate plans to fire the Swede, who was only appointed to the role last summer.

However, he admits he will assess Eriksson's performance when City's Premier League campaign is over.

Asked by reporters in Dubai whether Eriksson's job was in jeopardy, the former Thai prime minister said: "There are no plans at the moment.

"We will have to evaluate at the end of the season.

"I'm not happy with the performance of the club in the second half of the season.

"We will look at it at the end of the season and assess the club and the people involved."

Shinawatra also wants the City squad to be strengthened over the summer, adding: "We'll probably have to sell some players and buy some new ones.

"We need some defenders and midfielders. Midfielders are the key. We have some good players but we need more."

Manchester City made a strong start to the season but have slipped back to eighth and face an uphill battle to qualify for Europe.

He better think quick and back the right man for the job. In Sven we trust

Its not a question of how many points they have tallied, but more about the pattern of the season. For example Newcastle were awful and Keegan started off awful, but after half a dozen poor matches he is now 5 unbeaten.
This pattern gives all involved with the club evidence that the team is improving.
I am not saying Sven should be sacked, after just one year, but what he needs to do is to explain what went wrong after a promising beginning.
Lets face it, if the trend continues into next season Man City would be back into the relegation mix once again, so he has 4 games and the off season to turn things around.

As with any corporation at the end of the year you assess the performance of the team/business. If there is something which needs changing then it is changed accordingly.

TS has only said ASSESMENT WILL BE DONE on all parts. He was only specific on changes to the players ie midfield and i guess he will also look to bring in other positions.

If after the assesment is done he believes that the manager needs changing then so be it what is wrong with getting a better manager. I clearely remember when Chelsea did the same and then there was the uproar but Muhrino brought them trophys so what is wrong with that.

I notice it is mostly supporters of other clubs who are complaining can it be that they are afraid that the top four will have a new contender possibly.

Before it was top three before Chelsea now it is top four. Maybe next it will be top five with Man City being is first second or third place.

I am also sure all Man city supporters though glad for the improvement had expected more from the team after such a bright start. I as a Man-U fan was dissapointed to see them drop so far mainly because of the hard knocks which the England supporters gave Sven I wanted him to do well with the club. Yes he has done so but i am still dissapointed.

BFINALLY TS DID NOT SAY HE WILL CHANGE THE MANAGER HE ONLY SAID THERE WILL BE ASSESMENT AT THE CLUB. STOP POSTING DEGORATORY REMARKS BECAUSE OF MEDIA SPECULATION

It is about time that somebody did something about the lazy journalism that is taking place. I am so fed up of the media making up stories where there are none. They seem to enjoy people losing their jobs and spend their time patting themselves on the back for another manager gone.

What is it about them? Can they not report a comment without lying about what is meant by the person speaking to them?

It is so important that people actually read what is said and don't ever take anything that the media says on face value. Theirs must be the only profession that makes a living out of blatant lies and innuendo.

I hope that Frank and Sven go on over the next three years and achieve their goals. It has been really refreshing watching City play this season. Even when they have lost they have entertained and they are developing young talent. What more do you want in your first year without a decent pre-season? I believe that one of the reasons they are trailing off is because of the lack of a full pre-season and they will definitely improve next year.

dear, dear, this really is getting beyond the joke now aint it!

these damned johnny foreigners, coming over here buying up clubs willy nilly and then thinking they can just do as they jolly well pls! its just not cricket is it (or football for that matter)

Seriously though, it's always going to be the trade off when someone as clueless as this dude comes in and pumps in all those ill gotten dollars (or yen or wotever they use over there) into the club that u'd have to live with his ill educated, frankly stupid, comments and decisions. Its the equivilent of worzel gummidge taken control of vidal sassoon in alot of ways.

Its just like the yanks at liverpool, i had to laugh at that clanger by the one who wants to sell his shares. Accusing rick parry of incompetence because liverpool haven't won the league while his been at the helm - HELLO!! no one wins the league other than man u or occasionally arsenal or chelski! if that was the barometer of success every chairman or director of football in the country had better hand in their notice pronto!

Hicks' argument is that Parry has failed at Liverpool because United, Arsenal and Chelsea have built up their revenues with new stadia or overseas branding or both.

Liverpool under Parry have done neither and yet they are the most internationally successful and recognised English club.

Why he should want to get rid of Sven is beyond me ? Nobody would have had them in 8th place with 4 games to go. If you'd have bought Man City points in a spread bet at the beginning of the season you'd have made a fortune. This time last year the club was in turmoil. Sven has had a great season. Just goes to show some of these foreign owners don't know what they're doing.

Why are we all taking the media bait.....they have simply put a negative spin on it because they hate Sven. If you read this slightly diufferently, you could say that Frank is supporting a "shake up" and is being highly abmitious for the club.......as usual southern based big 4 obsessed media being lazy

11 points better off than this time last season, for a net spend of circa 30 million. He has every reason to question Sven's performance.
