U3238270 posted Apr 14, 2008 We are expecting Sayers to start fulfilling his promise this season. The batting line-up, with White, Rudolph and McGrath should be OK. This assumes, of course, that Vaughan continues to “bat” for England.

Rudolph is obviously the focal point but Anthony McGrath, Craig White and Michael Vaughan all have international experience. Gerard Brophy had a good season with the bat last year not to mention Bresnan and Rashid.

yorkshire501-2dec (U11619888) posted Apr 15, 2008 great bowling line up but we are at least 1 batsmen short. assuming vaughan is elsewhere we have only 4 proven batsmen incl the ageing white and the inexperienced sayers. brophy or rashid at 5 worries me. hopefully gale will come good but 1 or 2 injuries and we could struggle.

Lowfielder (U9075147) posted Apr 17, 2008 are we going to allow michael vaughan pussyfoot around and "try" play himself into some sort of england form for our expense, may be being harsh but he does not seem to care much for club these days

U3238270 posted Apr 17, 2008 Vaughan shouldn’t even have been in the team currently playing for one of two possible reasons. Firstly, we should be playing a batsman who is likely to feature more during the season when Vaughan is on England duty. Secondly, in the unlikely event of Vaughan not being an ever present in the England team this season, in terms of commitment and desire, he is not good enough to play for Yorkshire.

U3238270 posted Apr 19, 2008 In Vaughan’s case, let’s hope it never will, ToffeeSpoon. That’s not a bad line-up, but I’m not sure about Rashid at #5. I think I’d bolster the batting a bit with a Gale and leave out either Bresnan or Naved.
