The head guard could become standard wear for goalkeepers. It would make some sense as they are more likely to suffer head injuries accidental or otherwise on the field. A skull fracture can linger for years with headaches, blurred vision not to mention a legacy of weakness in that area. I think short of the fatality of Jim Thompson and on a par with Bert Trautmann's broken neck it is the worst injury ever sustained by a goalkeeper. IMHO criminal charges should have been considered.

Chelsea are being shafted by the Premier League and Sky this week. Makes me wonder once again who is charge of the EPL? The CEO or Alex Ferguson? Why are the FA and EPL executives so afraid of this man? Did he ever have that disrepute hearing? What about his "investigation" into the Heinze transfer? It is no player is bigger thatn any club. Seems to me Ferguson and Man Utd seem to think themselves bigger than the league!

I just heard the shock news that Avram Grant will be wearing a head-guard tonight. I think that can only be for the good.

Surely there are allowances made for emergency on-loan signings due to injury, and Chelsea have has a few days to find someone?

Ben Foster would have been interesting

Hilario should play tonite, he is no worse than most of the keepers in the league and IMHO more steady than Cudicini nowadays.
In the long term I think we need to have a good look at the situation as unfortunately Cech has not been the same since his injury.

ok then - no pressure playing Wigan tonight. It should be a stroll in the park for you - unless you bottle of course.

Your challenge will be Thursday's game vs Everton.

I remain certain that your home record will go when UTD visit in 2 weeks. Who else, other than Liverpool, would you expect to do so?
