Jägermeister Jack (U10668474) posted May 3, 2008 Morning sheesh, its a hard one to figure out this one, on one hand the appeal failed because the lateness of it, but then aren't they saying it would have failed because ken bates made a commercial decision to stay in league 1 with -15 points instead of dropping to league 2. Now for me that indicates that he didn't have any chance with this appeal, and maybe that's why he opted out of going to the high court, he would have been crucified on the legality of what he accepted. But then you still got a very good chance of getting out of this league, you have achieved much even without the points, best of luck with it.

Monmouth Swan (U10907924) posted May 3, 2008 Yes the appeal failed on the grounds that bates tried to renege on a commercial arrangement, initiated by him, that benefitted Leeds. To then claim 'duress' is unbelieveable. bates has played fast and loose with the facts from the start. leeds fans have been fed a line and (understandably) swallowed it hook line and sinker.
