Official Arbitration Thread - Zero Points

League One Leeds United
comment on the article

01/05/2008 - Appeal rejected ****

PUNISHED FOR DOING NOTHING WRONG - As admitted by the FL
RESIGN NOW.... .....Bates

Appeal rejected: www.leedsunited.com/page/New...

Sky News:
www.skysports.com/story/0,19...

Reasons for failure:

1. Signing of the agreement - (Had no choice...?)

2. Left the Appeal too late - (We asked for the appeal earlier...?)

3. It would upset the current league postions - (Weak argument)

If these reasons were the only reasons..."Why did they not throw it out asap...?"

P.S. 666...

1. The FL confirmed that the OLD company did NOTHING wrong

2. The FL confirmed that the NEW company did NOTHING wrong

3. The FL confirmed that KPMG did NOTHING wrong

Still bleating are you...Get the facts RIGHT first...

Anyway, to you all....THERE IS NOTHING IN THERE TO SAY WE HAD BROKEN A RULE

I hope the other chairmen are please with themselves...and the fans that still believe we deserved 15 point penalty for DOING NOTHING WRONG

The Case: "The Exceptional Circumstances"

The exceptional rules allow them to put in place penalties where it is deemed suitable provided they get a majority of member club chairman to agree to it ...the FL's claim

Now as we all know this is exactly what the League did and got a 75% approval "so this, in the Leagues view gives legitimcy to their actions".

The Leeds response to this is thought to be that "this was the first time this action was taken and that all those chairman had a vested interest in Leeds punishment so was not fair within the rule of common law" - source...Seasidewhite

Kidney:

"Why cannot people say right what has happened has happened, lets get on with it."
--------
'cos a lot of people are in denial, still looking to blame outside influences, when it is clear to see that the problem lies within the club.

Morning sheesh, its a hard one to figure out this one, on one hand the appeal failed because the lateness of it, but then aren't they saying it would have failed because ken bates made a commercial decision to stay in league 1 with -15 points instead of dropping to league 2. Now for me that indicates that he didn't have any chance with this appeal, and maybe that's why he opted out of going to the high court, he would have been crucified on the legality of what he accepted. But then you still got a very good chance of getting out of this league, you have achieved much even without the points, best of luck with it.

Yes the appeal failed on the grounds that bates tried to renege on a commercial arrangement, initiated by him, that benefitted Leeds. To then claim 'duress' is unbelieveable. bates has played fast and loose with the facts from the start. leeds fans have been fed a line and (understandably) swallowed it hook line and sinker.

Yes sheesh
You weredohing me,and I haven't a clue!!!

BUT it looks as if AM RIGHT AND YOU WERE WRONG,if you ever have a sensible point, you might just be worth listening to.but its cut and paste, add a few silly comments.
SHEESHIENOTHOUGHTS comes to mind.
If you cannot see the problem in your club you are deluded, many leeds fans are at least realising ken bates is a problem, and you have to look to yourselves before blaming others.
Well of to watch the cumbrians, take care, grow a spine, you big liberal.

Thank-you for talking,on the whole your a decent guy, just those damned blinkers, but thats what loving your club is about, enjoy the playoffs sheesh.cheers

I said from the beginning Leeds should have never been allowed to start League 1.That Leeds were thrown a life line, where they thought it was a duress signing!!

Afternoon guys,

Good point was made on the radio yesterday.

Leeds had no chance at the appeal because KB, like everyone as stated agreed and signed the -15pts, still had the "golden share" and even agreed to not appealing against the FL decision.

I think in a nutshell thats it. end off.

From what i have read and heard i dont think how or why the points were deducted was even discussed.

Sheesh,

We are Leeds and we're proud of it. That's all that matters to any true fan. Brilliant performance by a two-thirds second choice line-up against the Gills.

Let's do it the hard way now....

"15 points - who gives a ****...."
"....we're going up!!" somersault

Right? MOT
