Hamilton showing inexperience?

Formula One

did hamiton show real inexperience on the weekend by doing what he did, he was under pressure from the off with the ferrari advantage so yesterday was a day for the mature head to make the most of what he had but one mistake compunding another meant no points.

of course on the other hand you can cite examples of the same happening, on occasion to people like schumacher, so what do you think? Young head still learning or something lacking?

Wasn't it all Alonso's fault, even in the face of documented evidence to the contrary?

He made a mistake, maybe it is inexperience, more likely it's just one of those accidents that catch out all drivers every now and again.

It's just a pity our media are so keen to point the finger at Nasty Fernando at every opportunity, it does neither them nor Hamilton any credit at all.

what i find odd about this situation is why mcalren left him out there if he had a badly damaged car, i havent come across any reports about how badly damaged lh's car was and can remember ms having to come in for a new nose after a first corner incident with montoya? (testing long term memory here) ms finished 3rd.

all i have seen from LH is someone who is very fast in qualifying and winnig races when on pole and thats it.. why did mclaren leave LH out there?

Poeple make mistakes, something that the media and so called fans need to learn. Real F1 fans know mistakes happen, thats y F1 is so exciting.

As a Ferrari fan, i'm not reading too much into this, Lewis Hamilton will bounce back in the next race. Massa is a prime example.

Another voice of reason? Perhaps the 606 F1 board may be worth saving?

I think it's partly inexperience and partly mentality. Hamilton's instinct when things go wrong is to drive his way out of trouble, as hard and as fast as he can. So far that's compounded things more often than it's bailed him out and unless he can learn to take a step back, things like this will keep on happening.

about learning on the job.

I thought F1 WAS the pinacle and lads learned on the way up but these days guys stick kids in to the cars and they toddle out hopefully you take all the electronics off and the PS3 bunch can't cope and real driving and passing returns!

it's funny to hear about the british media pointing the finger at Fernando. I've moved back to Germany in between seasons, and I'm getting fed up with all the talk about the 5 germans on the Grid.

the Hamilton/Alonso incident was viewed extremely soberly by the German media. maybe LH was a little optimistic / maybe FA was driving a little more slowly than usual / etc. but at no point was there any finger pointing, blaming etc. Of course they were trying to figure out why Sebastian Vettel retired so early, so they could find someone to blame for that.

I guess it's just normal that different countries' media concentrate on 'their' drivers more than anyone else. We'll never change that.

For my part, I'm not a big fan of Alonso's, but I think it was an avoidable error of Lewis's. He'll learn, I'm sure of that.
