the thing that gets me is this the 1st time in alomst 3yrs that rangers have been consistant week in week out & it shows how good celtic are in the league when there is another challenger for the league

Smith has done what O'Neill did & for less money too....if this was supposed to be Rangers rebuilding season then god knows how good they'll be when they're in full swing

comparing mcmanus to mcneill is a bit unfair. No One will ever come close to his level of success as Celtic captain. McManus has served well as a captain, but he can only do so much. It's up to every Celtic player to take a look at themselves and think about whether they are doing enough.

Strachan has obviously lost the confidence of his troops though. His reluctance to remove big Jan from the field is another example of his arrogance. Same goes for giving Donati a strip and not Riordan. Different types of player granted, but which one do you think knows what it means to pull on green and white?

Strachan your time is up

Strachen has to go!!
We need a manager with a good eye in the transfer market and we need to get back to the glory days and have at least 3 or 4 class players..ie Neil Lennon,Henrik Larsson, Bobo Balde{Who still is class if got a chance} and Chris Sutton?? Wer has the team spirit gone and the pride in wearing the Green and White Jersey??
Its all about the money to these Pre-maddonas...

I put Celtic's poor season down to low expectations from the manager and complacency shown by some players. Celtic should be expecting to get into the quarter finals of the Champions League and winning the domestic competitions; not simply hoping! We should be steamrollering teams like Motherwell no matter how well organised they are defensively and also Rangers, who are not a good team. That's what makes the failure of this season all the more galling. Walter Smith has them organised but superior quality should always tell in the long run. Celtic management and players should hide their heads not just for yesterday but for bringing shame on the great name of Celtic! Even unsuccessful Celtic teams of the past fought for the pride of the club. The league might have gone but every Celtic player should run himself into the ground between now and the end of the season or walk. As for next season Celtic should do whatever it takes to get David Moyes to Parkhead and as a longer term goal move heaven and earth to get out of the SPL.

as a celtic fan , i would say hand the trophy to rangers now.Walter smith has done a good job since he took over again at RANGERS, i,m not saying RANGERS are a good team , but for all the resourses that W . S had, he tacticly and technicly brought in the right players. GORDON STRACHEN says he,s building for the future by bringing in younger players, well first and foremost this only works when you have older exsperienced players in the team .Now what older exsperinced players do CELTIC have, who have european and higher profile league exsperience ??? , 3 maybe 4 , BORUC , HINKEL , VENEGOORE, does this not tell you that CELTIC,s problem lies in their midfield, NAKAMURA and greedy MCGEADY, skillful and all they are, but they are to easily brushed of the ball, DONATI if he was anyway good ,their would be no way A.C MILAN would of let him go,SNO , BROWN and ROBSON are really the only strong hardcore we have, but quest what, where is the high quality exsperience. The CELTIC team does not have a leader especially in the midfield area , please GORDON get rid of NAYLOR, CALDWELL KILLEN,and all the other dead wood in your squad, and bring in the 3 or 4older players with the european exsperience we need , so the rest of the squad learns to be better technicaly, time is running out MR STRACHAN, i think the board will give G . S one more season, thats if the we man does,nt run scared.

It is def time for Strachan to go. I dont agree with us singing for his head at the weekend but something needs to be done. I dont think we have had such a poor run of results in a long time. I certainly cant remember going to 3 homes games in a row and not seeing us score.

Everytime Celtic get beat, strachan tells us how well they played, he was at it again on saturday. He has more smugness and arrogance than capacity to manage this club. Looks like He's gonna keep on playing caldwell who is on a run of being personally responsible for a goal a game. The players have run out of ideas, strachan has run out of luck and the board need to run him out of town.

Sorry Gord, the league is gone, even if your job hasn't.

Time to have a SERIOUS look at the team

G. Boruc of course if he stays.
RB. Hinkel looks good enough with loads of cover - Wilson, Doumbe, Caddis.
LB. If not Naylor, then who? Wilson again maybe.
CB. Got to be Calwell & McManus until JFK is fit (if he ever is again). Maybe time to give the likes of Scott Cuthbert a run to see what he can do. Bobo can rot until we get rid.
RM. Naka of course, but give Mizuno a wee shot to see if he's up to it.
CM. Robson has to get a game some time. I'd like to see him with Hartley, if only to wake Skoosh up a bit. Doughnutti can do what he likes.
LM. Aidenho of course.
S. McDonald of course. How on earth can WGS drop him for any game? Give Hutchinson a go to see what he's made of.

Is it just me or do others agree that JVOH and Samaras are not brave enough. Big Jan is great at glancing headers which just seem to go the wrong side of the post. 35 yards out and in a wide position Samaras looks a world beater. But have you ever seen them put their bodies where it really hurts - the way Hartson and Sutton used to do.

My team for the rest of the season would be.

I cannot believe someone actually singled out Evande Sno for praise on here... Easily one of the worst professional footballers i've seen. He would struggle to gain a starting place in a 2nd Division team.
