Grand National
comment on the article

Hi everyone.

This is the thread to head for as we discuss the build-up to the Grand National. We want your selections, your reasoning, plus any potential theories as to why Comply or Die and Hedgehunter are attracting so much support.

Cloudy Lane's price is not plunging as Ladbrokes feared. This is very interesting indeed.

By all means discuss other races. I like Tidal Bay in the 2.15 but am a bit worried by the trainer's form at the minute.

Good luck everyone.

These are my selections for the big race: news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/oth...

wonderful race. shame for mc coy who fell in a great position, had he jumped becher's brook well he could seriously have won. but a fantastic ride for timmy murphy, congratulations. its terrible for mckelvey, a good horse who will be missed.

I put £2.50 each way on Comply or Die @ 8/1 thanks to the BBC article and made £30 in total (inc. stake).

Overall, a good day I'd say!

Just found out I won my money back, didn't realise I bet each way. Slim Pickings, slim winnings more like.

Talking of sweepstakes, does anyone know who fell first out of L'Ami, Backbeat and Black Apalachi? On the BBC re-run I'm sure it says Black Apalachi but cannot be sure and there's nothing on the web about it. My sweepstake is riding on the first faller and I'm sure there'll be a debate at work tomorrow! Thanks.

If you search the web, the consens is that Black Ap. was the first faller.
