Well done Karen Stupples

LPGA Tour

Great to see England's Karen Stupples on top of the leaderboard in the first ladies' major in the States. She had a dip in fortunes last year when she took time out to have her first baby (something the men don't have to contend with) so it's great to see her come out with all guns blazing this year. Keep it up, girl!

Oh come on lady putt we all know having a baby is no excuse! They should change the name of maternity leave to vacation if you ask me! Just one big holiday.

But well done to her for doing well in America now thats difficult!!

Yes, well done, let's hope she can hang in there.
One thing I,ve noticed whenever I have had a lady player in our group is their smooth swing and temperament on the course ( I guess their not trying to hit the ball into the cosmos).

I beleive the Ladies open is on at Sunningdale this year, I may have a wander down there to see it.Probably cheaper than other events, and may see some good golf.

Agreed, great start by Karen Stupples.

Am surprised that the article didn't cover Laura Davies' odyssey from the sublime (eagle 2 on her 3rd hole) to the ridiculous (a perfect 10 on the par 5 18th, her 9th), and her very creditable performance in holding it together to be one under for her second nine holes. Now she's under the cut line and will hopefully keep those tens off her card.

+2 for Becky Brewerton, but disappointing for Catriona Matthew (+5) who averaged a top nine finish across last year's majors. Mhairy McKay one shot further back.

Incredibly premature pro golf is about 4 rounds not one

So no-one would have mentioned TW if he'd been in the lead after round 1? No, I didn't think so. So that argument doesn't stand up.

Yes, onemorerevolution, the British Women's Open is at Sunningdale this year (July 31st to August 3rd) and it's a great event to attend. I'd recommend it to everyone - male or female.

I cant believe you played the "time off to have a baby, somthing men dont have to contend with" card
lets face it, if having babie was difficult... men would do it. As for womens golf I for one like it on TV just not that awful Hazel Irvine when she is on.

Ladyputt,
Do you know roughly how much it would cost to go and watch the women's british open at sunningdale?
